Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that in your use, you felt like the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer was leaving your hair feeling coarse in texture. The technology behind Dyson Supersonic is quite revolutionary and it is not like anything you might be used to. It can take some time to get used to the different settings, features and attachments Dyson supersonic provides during your drying session, not to mention your normal way or habit of drying your hair with traditional hair dryers.
 
While everyone is different, we certainly wouldn't expect hair to become rough or coarse as a result of using Dyson Supersonic. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer will feature intelligent heat control, which means it will monitor and control the temperature at all times. This helps prevent extreme heat damage and protects hair's natural shine. It also will feature negative ions to help prevent hair from becoming frizzy. One quick tip I would recommend, as outlined in our Dyson Supersonic support videos, will be using the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. When the dryer is held away from your head the dryer reads the temperature of the room and not your hair, this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. Please also note that each heat and airflow setting is designed to provide varying outcomes depending on the style you have in mind for any particular drying session.
