Don’t bother.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my wife, and we are highly disappointed. Within 2 days of use, it has overheated and shut off numerous times. Having owned 5 different dyson products I was greatly disappointed with this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Derek, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm so sorry to hear from your review, that you've already experienced an issue with your brand-new Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer overheating. This can generally be caused by not removing the plastic wrap covering over the vent on the handle, or holding the machine with the hand covering the vent.
I'm happy to inform you that, while we don't expect any problems to occur, if you purchase your machine new and from an authorized retailer Dyson will back your purchase with a free 2-year guarantee. I have naturally frizzy hair, and it's very curly on the perimeter, ie. high maintenance hair. It's such a pain to get my hair smooth and I usually have to use a straightener to get it how I want it after I blow dry. Enter the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. Silky smooth with just a blow dry. I'm thrilled with it. I'm a retired hair dresser and know my way around a blow dryer. This is unlike any I have ever used. It is pricey, but so worth it. I'm just mad I didn't get one sooner. Getting used to the cool blast button has been my biggest challenge with it. My finger doesn't naturally go there, so I have to do some finagling to make that happen.

I bought one last year for work.. I was skeptical because of the price tag. I am their biggest fan! I absolutely love this dryer and have talked many of my clients into purchasing one for themselves. I bought it for my personal use and love it!!

Great for wavy hair

I have wavy hair and wear it between my natural texture and blow outs. This product is able to diffuse my hair perfectly or style a blow out within 10-15 minutes. With more traditional hair dryers, I could expect to be styling my hair for 30-45 minutes. My hair has stayed shiny and healthy and I don’t worry about frying it with its advanced technology. Not sure how I used other dryers before this one.

Dries hair quickly but has issues

I have purchased 3 Dyson dryers of this type in 5 years. The strength began to decrease in about 2 years for all. Expensive dryer for this to happen! Threw them away.

Great, while it works, which isn't for very long.

I'm now on my third Dyson dryer. The machine is great, while it works. It has a lot of power. However, the longevity is unacceptable. My first one broke after less than two years, which was covered by the warranty. Then my replacement broke, and wasn't covered. This is so disappointing for such an expensive product. I do love the way this dries my hair, but I am disheartened that Dyson Supersonic seems to be so poorly made. I have two other expensive, premium dryers that have lasted me longer than all 3 of my Dysons combined.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better than Expected

Love the Dyson Supersonic. Like many I was concerned about the price and that the hype wouldn't match the reality. I was wrong. Love the Dyson Supersonic. I have used many good dryers over the years and this one drys my hair faster than any another. I love the anti-flyaway attachment. Usually my hair looks too poofy after blow drying but the anti-flyaway attachment changed all that. My hair looks perfect after I blow dry.
