I Never Leave reviews. But really just hatched for this product. I have been wanting to buy this hair dryer for years, but I cannot justify the price. I finally caved and bought it and the price is well worth it! I have thick long and a lot of hair and blow drying it myself was basically impossible. But with this hair dryer, I can get it done pretty quickly and my hair. Super smooth I no longer need to flat iron it. My blow out lasted all week and I just cannot believe how shiny it is. I wish I had bought it sooner. This is definitely going to save me money on going out for blow outs.
I haven't blow dried my hair myself in 10 years. I tried a different hair dryer and was disappointed so I bought this one. I dry my hair in 15min and it looks great, minimal frizz. I love it.
I have had several hair dryers and usually get a higher powered one so that my thick hair will dry quickly. The Dyson is only 1200, but does the job so quickly. My hair comes out smooth and soft. I use the focused air attachment with a round brush and also the attachment that smooths the stray hairs. Overall, I love the Dyson Supersonic!
The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer works wonderfully. With my regular dryer, I could spend about half an hour just trying to get it relatively dry, and then I could spend another 20 - 40 minutes trying to get it straight and flat, which only could be achieved with a flat iron. With the Dyson hair dryer, it only took half an hour to get dry, straight, flat hair. The new flyaway attachment is awesome. It helps me to get rid of all the fluffy, fuzzy little hairs, but it also made the whole length of the hair to be flat. Frizz was gone, efficiently and easily. The takeaway of all this is that the time of exposure to heat is cut to more than half and with better results.
My hair is wavy, but if I treat it with a curly cream and dry it using a diffuser I can get it quite curly. With the Dyson diffuser attachment, my hair got dry, really dry, very quickly and the curls looked fabulous. With my regular hair dryer, I was only able to get the dampness out, but it was never really dry, thus the weight of the water that was still in my hair would make the curls stretch out and by the time it got completely dry the shape of the curls was gone. To get the finish I got with the Dyson in only 20 minutes (maybe less than that) I would need to keep drying my hair for at least 45 minutes or more before it was really dry, and then the final result would be a big fluff of frizzy hair.
I think is quite pricey. Hopefully, it will last for a long long time.
Shipping was very quick even though it was delayed for a bit.
This dryer works work well on my hair as well as on my daughter's. My hair texture is fine hair type 4b/c this dryer had my hair completed in under 8 minutes. My daughter's hair is thicker with texture 4c and it completed her hair in a little over 10 minutes. Our hair was not burned and felt really good for the entire week. Worth every penny for my Xmas gift to myself.
I was a hairdresser for 10 years and finally tried a Dyson hair dryer. It had no concentrator, which is a nozzle attachment on regular blow dryers, that controls the direction of air, preferably directing it from the scalp towards the ends as that creates shiny, smooth results. But hey, I tried it anyway. The results of my hair were equivalent to using a hotel hair dryer, frizzy and wild hair. The whole mechanism of the dryer reminds me of a hand dryer in public restrooms. Stick to floor vaccuums, Dyson, I do think they’re the best. ;)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you didn't have a better experience when trying out the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer Pro. The Pro model does come with a professional styling concentrator, diffuser, gentle dryer attachment, wide tooth comb attachment and the Flyaway attachment. It would be unusual that your dryer did not include all of these accessories.
With regard to your hair blowing around or creating a frizzy or un-tamed texture can occur, but is easily remedied. To begin with, the unit is designed with a type of thermal control which means it will monitor and control the temperature at all times. When the dryer is held away from your head the dryer reads the temperature of the room and not your hair; this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. In light of this, it may be necessary to use the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. When applying these tips to your everyday styling you should start to see a difference in the texture of your hair.
