Faulty design causes shattered glass

My phone fell while in this case and now the back is shattered. The crack appears to have propagated from the ridge on the case around the camera bump. It appears that the glass on the phone is unable to stand the stresses caused by pressure placed on the glass by the ridge. A thicker, flat case instead of the thinest case possible with a tall ridge around the camera would prevent any stress concentrations that break the glass. I am at fault for putting my phone in a position in which it could fall so easily. However, Otterbox should not have made a case that concentrates pressure on such a vulnerable part of the phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stay away from OTTERBOX

I have had an OtterBox since my IPHONE 6. Their products are going downhill and they don’t stand by their protection anymore. I dropped my phone once after 6 months and the whole back screen shattered. My phone has never been out of the case. I know OTTERBox’s response is to offer a new case instead of standing by their product. Really disappointing. I’m asking my office to switch case companies as well since they use Otterboxes for our work phones. No accountability is a big problem.

Not a great purchase

The case fits great. I also have more confidence in holding my phone because the case is less slick and allows for a more secure grip. The MagSafe works great and I am using the case with a pop socket wallet that is staying on perfectly.

Save your money, save your phone.

Not a well designed case, certainly not worth the money. Great color options however the camera lens extends further than cutout on the case, which caused the glass back of my phone to completely crack from the first small drop of my phone. This drop was from the phone sliding off the couch to the floor, roughly 18” below and landing flat on its back. The case offered minimally more protection than having no case at all, potentially no more protection. An additional annoyance with this case is the mag safe connections. They are poorly secured to the case and will fall out of their holes attaching themselves to the back of the phone and requiring the removal of the case to realign, which furthers the cracks your phone back will certainly have if your using this case. OtterBox typically offers more protection then other cases which gives them the brand recognition allowing for the price premium, however the quality simply does not justify the price for offering no protection whatsoever.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
