First, I have owned and used my vita mix for over 8 years now and use it frequently throughout the week. It is a great device for the kitchen. This review is for the Aer Disc Container only.
I am not sure it is worth the price for what use I have got out of it so far. It is well-made and functions fine, but does it do a better or different job than the original container? Some things yes. For example, if you would like a cold drink over crushed ice, this will keep the ice from blending up in the drink. Maybe during the summer months when I am making more cocktails this will become my go to gadget.
The “recipe" book was a bit disappointing with 10 recipes repeated three times in different languages. And the examples that they give are uninspiring such as whip cream. The book probably was intended to show the different ways this device could be used. I thought the original Vita mix recipe book was really well-done and useful so I was expecting the same quality.
So in summary, so far this device falls short only in that it does not do much more that I can already do in the original container. If money and space is not a priority in your life, go ahead and buy this item and maybe you will find a purpose for it.
Pros: Speed of Service, Durability, Easy to use, Power
I added the Aer Disc Container to my Vita Mix as it was on a promotion. I had no idea what an awesome container it is. It will pull the juice from the slice of orange, lime, lemon, strawberry and swirl it in the drink in a tasty healthy way. Strawberry Lemonade got me started and there are so many yummy healthy other drinks including the margarita! It will never get dusty in my house :)
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility, Recipe Enhancement, Power
We bought this after reading users loved it for smoothies. I’m sure this product is great for dressings and drinks but not to pulverize. We returned.

Yes, the Aer Disc Container is not intended for making the traditional smoothie. The Aer Disc Container will whip, muddle, foam and emulsify. Liquid ingredients are pulled through small holes in the spinning disc, aerating and emulsifying them, while firmer ingredients like ice, fruit, and herbs are agitated but not puréed.
I bought the aer disc container when they had a sale on them about a month ago. It’s great quality as always with vitamix. I tried it once but really will probably not use it. It’s limited to what to make with it. I use the vitamix almost every day. I would need a bigger recipe book for it to get me to use it more. I guess if you muddle a lot it would be good. We don’t ever make drinks. But nice addition if you use it.
I'm really trying to love this container however it falls short of even the most modest expectations. I have yet to have to it muddle as indicated it could. I followed a specified recipe as well as trying my own. I did try to whip/froth almond milk for my coffee (the 2nd reason I purchased) but have since learned almond milk is a poor choice. I love my vitamix but I'm afraid this container leaves a lot to be desired.

We hope you find these tips helpful. When muddling, typically a lower speed is best. Skim milk is needed to make cold and hot foam. The foaming process works as a result of the amount of fat, protein and sugar in skim milk.
