I got this fan as a Miles option from an airline. One thing you will notice when you get your box is that you will need to finish putting it tougher. It snaps really easily together and there really is no need for instructions.
HOW EVER... if you loose your remote*** that has a cool feature.. you will be SOL(so (s*&#) out of luck).. ***(you will be able to order a new one though from them) one of the coolest thing about the remote though is that it is magnetic and attach on the top of the fan. For what ever reason you should want it there.
(NOTE TO THE DYSON COMPANY FROM THIS POINT ON ANY IDEAS ARE PROPERTY OF MY OWN AND IF THE DYSON COMANY WISHES THEY MAY CONTACT ME ABOUT THE USE OF MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND/OR IDEAS BUT CAN NOT USE USE THEM IN THAT MAY IN ANY WAY BENEFIT THE COMANY ANY OR ITS SUBSIDIARIES UNTIL SUITABLE COMPENSATION HAS AND WILL BE AGREED UPON AT AN APPROPRIATE TIME)
I like to sleep with a fan and have found that I am about a 5-8 on there scale for speed. The size of the fan it's pretty substantial but it doesn't take up very much space almost to the point of really not noticing that it's there until you turn it up to level 10... You'll find it's quieter on speeds 1-3. speeds 4-6 are slightly louder... Speeds 7-10 tend to be the loudest and move a lot of air.... Even though it's loud it's still quieter than most fans.
The speed lighting display is really bright and if you sleep like I do you tend to cover every light source possible.. it would be a great idea to have a timed dimmer or way to turn down the great light on the fans. I find another downside to the fan is that the IR sensor is located so low on the machine that if he must cover up the light you also cover up the sensor... This would not be a problem if the light was on a timer Delay or if you could turn it off were down to a lower setting.
The other thing I've found is that they recommend that you clean the fan. But there's one problem with this they don't give you a cleaning cloth to go with it. A microfiber cloth is recommended for the cleaning of your fan. From what I understand you can go pick one up at the local stores for pretty cheap. As for cleaning there are inlet holes where the air comes into. These holes tend to gather small amounts of debris or fibers... You will need to clean these areas very frequently as not to decrease the Quality of the fan.
I've yet to use the time feature but I'm sure it works pretty accurately.
There's a lot of negative sounding things in this review. But that's because I'm tend to be overly critical when I'm reviewing a product. If you really wanted the fan in the beginning you won't be let down Dyson has made a great product that performs above all the rest I'm looking forward to getting their humidifier that came out recently add add To my collection of great products. Keep up the Great work on your products... If you need more ideas Dyson call me.. I could help design some great ideas for you :)
I love this fan - it's wonderful. My only complaint is the display for the fan speed; it's very bright in a dark room and you can't cover it up and have the remote still work. Aside from that, it's sleek, clean, and just the best fan I've ever had.
This fan puts out the air in a consistent pattern and it's quiet. The thing I like most is the ease of cleaning-no longer will I have to take a cover off to clean the blades. Just wipe around the oval. It took me awhile to get use to the remote but now I can't image not using it.
I have had this fan about a month, now. I wonder what took me so long to buy it. Absolutely best tower fan I've ever had. And it looks terrific in my tv/reading room; like a piece of unique furniture. It is so quiet, except for the more than adequate breezes it puts out, I never know when its on. I love the small remote; so easy and inconspicuous on any table.
Have had recent experience in (trying) to put together some cheaper tower fans and (mostly) very frustrating. This fan has like 3 parts for assembly and even I put it together in about 10 minutes. I LOVE this fan!
I wasn't aware how much the noise from a regular fan affected me until one night it was too cool to run it. The silence alone in the room, and the sense of relief in that silence brought a calm in me. That's when I said this fan has to go. I heard about the Dyson, was almost discouraged by the price, said 'what the heck' and bought the AM07. It's great for me to have the air circulating in my room when I sleep. Using the Dyson gave me the silence and a cool breeze that doesn't buffet my sheets around my neck (awake startle thinking some bug is crawling on me) when I sleep. This is the best investment I've made this year! The best part about this is that its for my health lending to a good quiet night sleep!!
We love our AM07! We feel much more at ease with it being on while our just toddling granddaughter is visiting. It is unobtrusive and we are looking to purchase the Dyson fan/heater combo for our bedroom. The only caution is that it gets somewhat loud at or above level 5.
I love this fan! Not only is it elegant in design and function, but extremely quiet! I use this fan in my office and can barely hear it unless I turn it up to 9 or 10, and, even then, it is not enough to annoy.
