Oscilator Broke

I was so excited for the first few days I had this Dyson tower fan cause it really is amazing, but after only 3 days of minimal use, the fan will no longer oscillate. For the quality I expect from a Dyson product, I am disappointed that I have to make a customer service call after only a few days.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have a single room on the second floor of our home in Florida that we recently redecorated and turned into a media room. The room's AC vents are part of an air conditioning system on the first floor of the house. We had the entire room reinsulated with foam insulation in our efforts to keep the room at a comfortable temperature, but the laws of physics haven't changed, heat still rises and the room can get pretty warm. Hence the need for a fan.
After trying a typical inexpensive fan, we didn't like the look, the quality or the amount of noise. I had seen a Dyson at Costco, but investigation made me realize it was an older model and the newer ones are supposed to be 60% more quiet. We decided to think of the fan not only as a way to make us more comfortable, but also as an art object. That made the cost a little more justifiable. Well, we really do like the fan. It does a fine job of moving air around. When I started the fan for the first time on speed 10, I actually was surprised at the amount of noise that it did make. My expectations may have been unrealistic, but I expected it to be almost silent, and it is not. However, I seldom keep the speed that high, and whatever whooshing sounds it does make are covered by the sounds of the TV.
It is lovely to look at, and is almost a piece of art standing regally in the corner of the room. It is a very unique and functional fan, and I would make the same decision again as well as recommend it to others. That, of course, is assuming the fan continues to operate for a long perior of time. So if you can handle the expense, I would recommend it.

Tower of Power!

Exactly what I was looking for.
Cool design. I almost bought the fan just to prove that the design really worked better than traditional fans.
Assembly was easy, my teenage son had it unpacked an working in a few minutes.
Works as advertised. Fan is powerful yet almost silent. Love the remote with timer shutoff feature. We turn it on to cool down at bedtime. Unlike other fans, it doesn't wake us up in the middle of the night nor do we pay for leaving the fan on all night.
Well designed eco friendly packaging.
Customer service is also excellent. The ring base was missing from our package. I called the number and a new piece was arrived in a few days. It was the right color and fit perfectly.
Well done Dyson!

The fan is awesome. Exceeded my expectations for quietness, airflow power, and it is so lightweight.
Is it worth the money? No way. But it is an excellent fan.

The price made us hesitate before we bought it, however this became the perfect addition to a room that needed air movement . . . and has pride of place as a delightful piece of sculpture.

We are very happy with the performance and sleek, sexy design. Maybe don't have a photo of said expensive fan on the Outside of the box that's left on our front stoop for the world to see. Glad it was there when we got home.
