I bought this to replace a large floor fan that was cumbersome to position and, while it worked quite well, required frequent cleaning of the blades.
The flow of air is different with the tower fan, smoother and less dramatic, but effective and pleasing. And to move it from one place to another- so easy.
Wonderful air circulation, but is not as quiet as Dyson says it is. It is quite at setting 5 and under but above 5 you can hear it from across the house. Still a nice fan.
As a recent owner of the Dyson AM07 Tower Fan, I am offering my review of the fan. Inside the base of the fan is a impeller that spins in a smooth and quiet manner moving a large volume of air intake into the oval diffuser above the base. The sleek diffuser in turn directs a wide angle of air outward from side-to-side as well as the middle of the diffuser tower. I am a fan of this fan as it blends both function and form.
All our Dyson fans are wonderful (have a table model, too.) My biggest issue with "regular" fans is that they have to be taken apart for blade cleaning. With the Dysons, dust collects on the outside, where you can very easily get at it -- cleaning doesn't turn into an engineering physics project! You just wipe it down with a moist cloth. Wonderful! If I have any complaint with the floor model, it's that the control device sometimes falls off at inopportune moments. A small complaint if ever there was one. Generally these fans provide steady, reliable air movement for long periods of time without clogging. We did without our 2nd AC unit all summer last year and remained cool.
Works as expected - very quiet on the low settings, very loud but effective on the high setting. When oscillating there is a clicking noise that becomes apparent on the lower speed settings, but not too distracting. Definitely recommended!
This fan is much quieter than the old AMO3 that it replaced. My only suggestion would be to move the remote sensor to the top of the loop for easier remote control around beds or furniture.
The AM07 is stylish, quiet and moves a lot of air without making a lot of noise. It is far easier to clean that any other fan I have ever owned. I have been using it for more than six months without issue.
This is not the cheapest fan in town, but so far I have been impressed with build quality and performance.
