White residue coming out of filter... bad support

we have had our fridge for about 8 months. bought this replacement filter in dec. now in january we notice that the water coming out of the filter is leaving a white residue behind. our tap water is not doing this. only from this filter. spent 40 minutes trying to get support and just kept getting passed around to extensions. guess i have to pay for a new genuine filter and hope i get a good one. can't get support on this one from the company. its past 15 days for a return so stuck. i'll be sure to test the new one and return at any sign of residue.
buyer beware.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Absolutely Awful Packaging. Wear Gloves To Open

This review is strictly for the packaging you put this filter in. I am typing this with fully bandaged hands as you made the plastic impossible to come apart and now I have lost several layers of skin on my hands. I now require assistance doing simple household tasks like using a fork or using the restroom. I hope whoever decided this packaging was right for this filter has a horrible summer and stubs their toe every time they walk to the restroom in the middle of the night.

Buyer Beware—DO NOT BUY a Samsung refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolute Junk— Ice maker never worked right, freezer quit and now refrigerator. We have owned it for 3 months and have been without a refrigerator going on 5 weeks. Service is as bad as the refrigerator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

very happy replacement filters are readily available for our Samsung refrigerator.
What would be best is to change the product packing from hard plastic to a paper based package. The hard plastic is very hard to remove and when cut to release the filter the plastic edges are extremely sharp and cause cuts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

RELEASE WATER PRESSURE BEFORE CHANGING THE FILTER

When the filter light came on for the first time, I took the existing filter out to get the correct number. At the time it seemed faster than hunting down the manual. The filter was very difficult to take out, and put back in. We finally managed to muscle it back in. This should have been our first clue we had not done something correctly. Within a few minutes of walking away, and thinking the filter was properly re-installed, water was running onto the floor. Thank goodness we were home to pull the filter back out, which stopped the leak. What a mess! The two bins beside the filter and the flex bin in the middle drawer had to come out so we could reach to remove all the water pooled inside.
OUR RESOLUTION TO STOP THE LEAK? Turn the water off and drain the line to release pressure. Filter went back in without any problems and no leaking when water was turned back on.
I wish I had taken the time to READ THE MANUAL BEFORE CHANGING THE FILTER. It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration had I done it correctly to begin with.
