I have been very pleased with the way my Toro blower/vacuum has worked with the exception that it does struggle on large leaves. I frequently have to clear the tube of debris but on smaller to medium sizes leaves it works wonders. Even with that being said, I would definitely recommend this product.
I had an earlier version of this leaf vacuum. The new one has a metal impeller - great for acorns, I hope. The big tube now has a click together fastener. The older model just had the 2 pieces shove together. They tended to come apart. The new one has a variable speed power control. This is good in places where there is gravel, for example, or new grass seedlings. Sometimes less is more.
I used the blower a couple of times and it worked very well. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of it. So far I'm very satisfied with my purchase and hope for many years of good service.
Leaf blowing and premise cleanup is a breeze with this product. The only problem I had was with the vacuum. It would stop running occasionally. Maybe it was due to the area I was cleaning, which was in a stone/plant landscape garden.
Easy to handle, great variable speed for garden areas, for the large projects in the fall it could use a shoulder belt to carry it. Would like to see toro engineers design a curved end to clear gutter debris.
as i watch my neighbors rake and pile leaves on to tarps to drag them out to the street, i effortly blow my leaves in a pile. With in one minute i change the adaptors and i'am mulching a few hundred pounds of leaves in minutes. job done... all i have to say is that i love this thing....
I bought my first home in 1997 and one of the first yard tools I needed was a leaf blower. The Toro model I purchased back then had all the necessary features. Recently it was much needed at my vacation home in Wisconsin so that is where it now resides. Now needing a new leaf blower here. I shopped Toro and this new Toro Ultra Blower Vac (Model 51619) has all of the features of my older one with several enhancements. The tubes connect together more easily and the blower velocity can now be dialed up from slow to fast, rather than just "low" and "high" as on the old model. Also, with the metal fan blade (versus the plastic one in the old blower) I'm confident that those leaf piles I vacuum up for bagging will be thoroughly mulched. Tar spot disease appeared in the trees last year so it is requested that we bag the leaves for weekly pickup. I had the opportunity to use this new leaf lower for the first time this week and I am totally satisfied!
Pros: incremental speed dialup, quick connect/disconnect of attachments, 4 year old toro garbage can vac attachment fits
When I need a new Leaf Blower, I always buy a new Toro Leaf Blower. I have a suggestion to make the product better. Need to reinforce the motor mounts. I reinforced the slots made in the plastic body. I placed two metal pieces with a slot to hard the motor steady and prevent it from slipping down on the blade guard.
