works great but doesn't last. mine is only a couple of years old and quit working. tiny little spring that provides tension for the carbon brushes in the motor broke. not a replacement part so mine is now headed for the trash bin.

Glad to hear your Ultra blower/vac provided great results. Due to our customers safety being a priority, we do not have replacement motor or electrical component parts because of the hazards accompanied with electrical repairs. The cost of a replacement motor often out weighs the cost of a new machine. Please keep in mind, we back your blower/vac with a two-year Toro warranty to protect you against manufacturing defects (starting as of the purchase date). For warranty or product questions, we recommend contacting our customer care team at 888-384-9939 (US) or 800-544-5364 (CA).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i have owned at least a dozen of this model. only two have lasted a month or two past two years. the speed dial malfunctions or the motor burns out. in the last three years i have found a new flaw. the leaf bags leak around the neck and they get holes in them much more quickly. i am constantly sewing them to fix the holes. the leak around the neck is a lack of quality control. i should not have to sew them to tighten the seal when they are new out of the box.

We appreciate your feedback regarding your Toro blower vacs. These machines are backed by a two-year residential warranty to protect you against manufacturing defects, in which we stand behind 100%! To obtain warranty services, we recommend contacting a Toro authorized service mechanic for full physical inspection. The dealer will be in the best position to determine what the underlying issue is and help to correct the issue. To find your closest dealer, visit Toro.com/dealer.

Hello,
Greatest thing when I first bought it and since then it has burnt out the rheostat control for the motor speed. I got online expecting I could buy parts for this unit, but found out that Toro considered it to be a liability because of user electrical repairs. Toro does not sell any electrical parts to repair this unit. Instead I by-passed the rheostat and accompanying resistor and used the plug as the "switch". Certainly not recommended, but only alternative other than buying a whole new unit. This worked very well up until the other week I noticed a slow down in rpm's and a burning smell coming out of the unit. Pulled the plug to stop the unit. Tried pressing the circuit breaker and it operated while the circuit breaker was depressed. . This tells me that either the circuit breaker was bad or the windings were bad. I do not have a mega reader to check. Please do not do anything unless you have top notch electrical skills thus accept your own responsibility.
Pros: blew like a hurricane!
Cons: burnt out rheostat after about a year

It is true, Toro does not recommend replacing electrical components in our blowers. Why? The replacement of single parts (i.e. brushes, springs) tends to be short-termed due to existing wear on the armature shaft and for our customer's safety we do not provide replacement parts for electrical components to avoid electrical hazards that may result during the repair process. Also, the cost of replacement electrical components or a replacement motor outweighs the cost of a new unit. Please keep in mind, we have backed your Ultra blower/vac with a two-year Toro warranty to protect you against manufacturing defects (starting as of the purchase date), in which we stand behind 100%. Great, but how do I obtain warranty? Simply contact our customer care team at 888-384-9939 (US) or 800-544-5364 (CA). We're here to help!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always raked, swept and physically picked up leaves.
After purchasing my very first leaf blower, I am so pleased that I
decided on a Toro. My Ultra blower vac has surpassed all my gardening needs and expectations. My Toro makes work easy and prevents backaches.
I enjoy telling my friends about my Toro product.
Pros: one product doing three jobs., light in weight, easy to clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quite powerful. The location of the knob on top is much easier to access than a switch underneath
Just bought it so do not know how dependable it will be. Two minor issues for me - am a woman - it is a bit heavy after a while handling it and the cord has a tendency to get loose. No matter what I tried it always ends up disconnecting.
Pros: position of the knob
Cons: never know which side of the plug goes in

We agree! The Ultra, along side with the Ultra Plus are the most powerful out of our blower/vac product lineup. This blower/vac has a blower speed of 250 mph and vacuum cfm of 410. All this power, comes with the weight of 8.9 lbs. Please keep in mind, we do have lighter options within our blower/vac product selection at Toro.com/yardtools. When operating any of our electric blower/vac we recommend using the cord lock feature to ensure the cord does not unplug easily, during use. We also recommend checking out our awesome help center video "Tips to Using Blower Vacs and String Trimmers" (Toro.com/support) in regards to demonstrating how to use the cord lock feature. Have questions? Our customer care team is happy to assist at 888-384-9939 (US) or 800-544-5364 (CA).

Toro Ultra blower vac

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second of this particular leaf blower / vacuum I have owned. The first unit lasted about 2 years, then the safety switch began failing, keeping the device from starting. After resolving this issue, the blower/vac lasted about another season then the motor gave out. I used it for household leaf blowing so it really did not get used in an environment it wasn’t designed for. The rotary speed selector would have been better designed as a variable-speed trigger. The blowing power is pretty decent, as is the vacuum. Leaves need to be very dry in order to keep from clogging the vacuum tube. Being of short stature (5’ - 6”j I find the vacuum tube to be just a little long to vacuum comfortably. For a taller person, this would not be an issue. The bag strap also is too long for a short person. I’ve had to take my strap in a little to make the bag sit properly.
Overall, I am pleased with this blower/vac but I have only had it since Sept 2017.
Pros: power, performance, good value for the money
Cons: rotary speed switch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my 20+ year old Toro blower/vac that finally stopped working. Very powerful motor and very convenient to switch from blowing to mulching.
I wish the blower tube was a bit longer so I could reach my gutters with it like I could with the old one. The old one also had an adjustable nozzle on the end so it could be pointed up, down, or sideways slightly.
I also don't like having to take the whole blower tube off to insert the different nozzles, it would be much more convenient if they could be attached from the outside.
All in all though I'm very pleased with it performance wise. I hope it lasts as long as my old one did.
Pros: very powerful, fairly light weight and easy to handle, easy to switch from blower to vac
Cons: blower tube could be longer, an adjustable nozzle would be more convenient, should be able to insert nozzles from the outside
