I purchased the Toro Ultra Blower Vac (51619) because of the great performance the previous Toro blower gave me and this newer model delivers better than expected.
Pros: horsepower, variable speed control
Cons: location of electrical receptical

I have bought a few Toro blowers. I decided to go with the 51619 because of the power and metal blade. The first one started acting up after a few uses with the variable speed knob. It became very touchy and wouldn't stay on or at full power, then it wouldn't shut off unless I unplugged it. I got it replaced and the same thing happened to that one. Neither one lasted a season. There is no warranty for replacements and I imagine it will cost almost as much to fix it than to just buy a new one. I have a degree in the Electrical field and they won't sell me just the part so I can fix it. Anyone with general knowledge of electricity would be able to wire this out. I am very disappointed in this product. I never had any problems with the other models with different switches. I guess I will go buy a generic variable speed switch and custom install it. For now I will bypass it and use the safety switch as my ON/OFF by taking out the cover inlet.
Cons: variable speed knob went out on both units
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Warranty replacements for the 51619 hold a two year warranty from the day you receive the replacement machine. Contact customer care for further assistance with this matter. http://www.toro.com/en-us/customer-support/Pages/Customer-Inquiry.aspx
As a first time user , I tried a gas blower vac and found it to be difficult to start, heavy and hard to manage the leaves, but the Toro Ultra electric blower vac made blowing the leaves a pleasure, it's easy to start, lightweight and very easy to manage the volume of leaves that we have to deal with. For any woman considering the purchase, I highly recommend it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I debated between the lower end, the mid range and the high end units. I decided to go with the mid range unit. It does everything I expected and need for my yard. I like the idea of a metal blade. It has a good warranty, too.

In My Life Time. This Would Be My 4TH Toro Blower I've Purchased My 2nd In This Model After 15 Years My old one switch Got Tired. Still Works. Love The Metal Impeller. I've Compared it To Others. I Still Take A Toro. It Performs Well For the Job.
First blower vac had strong electrical smell after second usage [15 minutes total time]. Returned to store for replacement, too early to tell with new one.
