This is the 4th Toro product I own, this newest leaf blower/shredder is a replacement for a 12 year old model that I had approximately two hundred hours of use,(possibly more), and considered NO other brand or model. I also have a 10 yrold snow blower, & a 12 yr old self propelled mower, both operating flawlessly with nothing more than normal maintenance.
Pros: weight

I have a stone patio (deck, facing on 11 foot long built in grill, burner, sink and rock facing from the ranch) this product makes blowing leaves, dirt, spider webs and any mid sized debris easy and quick for when the unplanned BBQ is on!!
I've used this a couple of times as both blower and leaf vac/shredder. I replaced the bag with the leaf collection kit (Toro 51502 Leaf Collection Blower Vac Kit) that attaches the hose to an apron that goes over a collection bin (trash can for me). The bag is useless if you're vacuuming a large amount of leaves. When using the Leaf Collection Kit, if you go over minimal suction, the hose blows out of the apron and/or the apron blows off the can or both. I tried varying the length of the hose within the can. No luck. I tried a cord around the apron, but it still blew off. Ended up using a competitor's apron which worked. As a leaf vac, it works very well on dry leaves, but all products do. It worked well with small sticks/twigs in the mix. It did not work well with damp or wet leaves. Gets clogged easily. The clogs are easily cleared, but it clogs way to often. At one point, the unit started making a strange noise. I took off the inlet cover and the impeller nut was gone.
Pros: clogs cleared easily
Cons: wat too many clogs, leaf collection kit doesn't work as advertised

Hello Mr. Griffin, We would recommend making sure the leaves are as dry as possible when trying to vacuum them. Regarding the warranty, we do stand behind our blowers for a full 2-years, 100%. Additional, as stated in the manual, hard materials such as sticks, rocks, acorns, and pine cones can damage the impeller, so should be avoided. With regards to the collection kit bag and hose, we recommend pulling the rope very tight and then pulling the black lock into place on the rope, this will provide a tighter hold than just holding the lock and sliding it back along the rope to tighten. For the hose, we also recommend having it at least 6 inches into the bag to provide the best hold. I hope this helps! Thank you.
The motor on the original unit started smoking. Returned to store and so far this unit is working good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Leaf blowing and premise cleanup is a breeze with this product. The only problem I had was with the vacuum. It would stop running occasionally. Maybe it was due to the area I was cleaning, which was in a stone/plant landscape garden.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Three days ago I was talking to my spouse about what a great product this is. No more than 2 minutes later a piece of mulch was sucked up and froze the metal impeller causing the unit to burnout. I immediately turned it off but too late.
I will buy another as it is a very good value but sure do wish it had an overload protector.
Pros: versatility, high speed when blowing leaves, strong suction
