Not Worth the Cost

I was looking for an SCA approved coffee maker that had some programmable features and this one caught my eye on their website. The coffee maker is very esthetically pleasing but that's where the compliments end. I have tried the Gold and Bold settings, temperature adjustments and various grind settings of my coffee but every time it comes out very weak. Looking into it more, I have noticed that the coffee grounds are not being evenly wetted during brewing as shown in my attached picture. Although difficult to confirm, it almost seems that water is not flowing through the shower head appropriately and it is actually pouring out of the connection point where there is some sort of silicon seal that is supposed to connect with the shower head when the filter basket lid is closed. This would make sense since there is a void of coffee in this particular location after brewing and could be the reason for the weak coffee since the water is not going through all the coffee evenly during the brewing process. Following my frustrations with the quality of coffee from this machine, I used it a bit differently this morning. I typically will have it setup for 8 cups. Today, I set it up to dose 2 cups. I then opened the lid and stirred the dosed water with the coffee so that it was mixed well and uniform. I repeated that with 2 cups again and then finally had the machine setup for 4 cups, but no stirring on the final time. The coffee came out great. The problem is, I shouldn't have to do that on a machine of this price with SCA approval. Lastly, I'm not sure how this unit would pass the requirements for 18-22% TDS unless I truly have an issue with the machine and the shower head. I unfortunately don't have a refractometer to verify this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for new moms that NEVER drink hot coffee

This coffee machine has been a life saver for me as a new mom. I never realized how much I would miss a hot cup of coffee! The thermal carafe keeps my coffee hot for hours so I can just top my coffee off all day and enjoy it the way it should be enjoyed!

Love the look

The look is great it is quiet and I love the jingle when the coffee is brewed. My only complaint is the amount of coffee you have to add to get a strong cup. Its probably double what I have used before to get a strong cup even on the bold setting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

"Alexa, start the coffee brewer"

My husband says it's completely unnecessary to be so high tech, but I absolutely LOVE this feature. Coffee is ready when I get to the kitchen each morning and plays a little chime to let me know it's done. Well made, carafe keeps coffee hot and looks beautiful on my counter. Love it!
