Got this coffee maker yesterday, after a real struggle to decide which brand to get. Cleaned it and set it up and brewed a test pot - and amazingly this is the first coffee maker I have owned that i did not smell plastic when first using it! I dumped the first pot to be safe, and drank the second, which was terrific! The machine is simple to use and the coffee stayed hot. No dripping, easy cleanup. Much prefer this to my Brim coffee maker, thermal pot is a huge plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very pretty design, underwhelming functionality

I was overall impressed with the design of the product, but had some elements that were a bit disappointing for the price. The copper finishes are inconsistent from handle to base, and also product to product. The handle appears to have a more purple hue, while the base is quite orange and placed next to the cafe toaster, the finishes look mismatched between products. Aside from the appearance, we find that we aren't able to fill up the filter basket as full as we would like for a full pot without it making a mess (using the recommended amount of grounds per cup). The grounds overflow out of the filter and into the mesh basket and we even found grounds in the pot itself, and it also covered the shower head spout resulting in a full disassembly after each use to clean it. When make half pots for myself, the coffee maker works great and the carafe keeps the coffee piping hot for hours though, which I love! Overall it is a beautiful appliance and with some adjustments it works well.

Beautiful Coffee maker, flawed design elements

This is the nicest coffee maker you'll ever see. When working properly, it brews delicous coffee. It's also the fasted coffee maker i've ever used. However, there are several design flaws that cannot be overloked:
1. It is nearly impossible to clean it properly. If you buy the white color, you will see coffee stains on the carafe very quickly, and it's simply not possible to remove them in any reasonable way.
2. Filter collapse. You really have to use the included reusable filter. If you use normal disposable filters you will undoubtedly have the dreaded filter collapse occur about 50% of the time. I've had more filter collapse with this machine in 6 months that i've had in my life with any other machine. Clearly a design flaw.
3. This machine does not work properly if you want to brew more than 6 cups. If you try to brew more than 6, it will cause a mess.
4. Descale. The directions on the manual do not work for descale. You have to use the "descale button" on the machine. You'll see tons of comments about how the descale light won't turn off. That's because people are following the instructions in the manual, which are incorrect!
When the machine works properly it is a fantastic coffee maker. Unfortunately these design flaws, coupled with the price point, make it hard to reommend. I would also recommend against the white color. You will not be able to remove the coffee stains from the pot.

As for the mess with making more than 6 cups, we recommend trying to use a medium ground coffee, if you are not already, to see if this helps. To properly descale this coffee maker, use a mixture of half water/half vinegar. Fill the reservoir to the MAX indicator. Run the coffee maker through a brewing cycle using the 10 cup setting. Once the mixture is gone, run the 10 cup brew setting 3 times using clear water in the reservoir. The Descale indicator will go off following the first rinse after descaling. If the light does not go off, run the 10 cup brew setting again using clear water in the reservoir.

Hi - Thank you for having purchased this beautiful Café coffeemaker. We hate to hear about the difficulty you are having with the temperature of the coffee. To clarify, this model does not offer a warming plate. Once the coffee has brewed the vacuum sealed carafe will keep the coffee fresh and hot for a minimum of hour.

You get what you pay for. This coffee maker may have been on the higher side of other brands, but well worth the money. Beautiful appliance that makes a great cup of coffee everytime.
