Durability isn't a concern
on October 2, 2025
Posted by: Deann
I feel like I have to leave a rating for this.
I love, love, love this phone. I've wanted a cute flip phone for forever that I could put charms on, this is perfect.
The only thing I worried about was the durability of a flip phone in general. That's why I went with the Motorola over any other flip smart phone. I bought the case from their website to go with it figuring it would be the best for functionality. It stressed me out a bit because it's partially held on by sticky bits. The whole thing stressed me out so much because it seems so fragile and I was so scared to even lay it down somewhere in case something happened.
Well... I was in a car accident a few weeks ago. Rolled the car at least 3 times going 60mph around a curve in the mountains, landed in a creek. It's a miracle I'm alive (I'm totally fine by the way, my back might ache a little in the future, but nothing serious). This phone here was loose in the car, found it under my car in the creek, not even one scratch anywhere. I can't even find a scratch on the case, the outside screen is perfect, cameras perfect, no technical issues from being in the water, nothing. I can't even tell it was in the wreck at all. And the sticky bits that hold the phone case on are some kind of undiscovered magic. The only thing I can figure is that it bounced around in the car the entire time it was rolling, somehow dodged all the glass and random stuff in the car (including a car battery that hit me in the head, and then imbedded itself into the windshield), went out the window at the perfect timing to land in the creek without hitting a single rock. Or this is just the tankiest phone on the planet. I don't know, but I'm not worried about durability anymore.
Only issues I've had is the system isn't quite developed enough yet for integrating the half screen with the rest of it. I can't get Gemini or Google Assistant to work with the phone closed (which is sad because I work on a farm (Christmas trees) and there's a lot of panicked calling coworkers for help with dirt and sap all over my hands) but I'm hoping in a couple of updates it'll be fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

poor experience
on February 18, 2026

I just recently purchased the razr ultra, upgrading from the 2023 model and have been thoroughly disappointed. The 1st razr I received came with an error and would not recover. A 2nd new razr was shipped out and after transferring all of my data, overnight the phone would not charge. I tried everything and could not get it to take a charge, it was completely dead. I have always preferred Motorola but after receiving 2 bad phones, I requested a refund. I will probably never purchase another Motorola phone after this experience.

Question about apps on outside screen
on October 31, 2025
Posted by: Christyc
I don't have this phone yet but I'm trying to decide if I'm buying this one or the G. I have the 2024 razr but 4 days after my warranty expired the screen quit. The outside smaller screen is fine but most apps require that u open the phone and use the main screen which I can't do. So before I buy the 2025 ultra I'd like to know if that's still the case on them. Aside from my screen dying on the 2024 I absolutely LOVED my phone.

Hi Christyc, Thank you for considering the Moto Razr Ultra 2025. The external (cover) display on this model is designed to run many apps directly without opening the phone, and you can add your favorite apps to the outer screen for quick access. While most apps work well, some may have a slightly adjusted interface due to the smaller screen, and a few functions might still require opening the main display. Overall, the external screen is much more capable than previous models, allowing for a smoother experience even when the phone is closed. A Flagship Phone Marred By Lackluster AI
on October 22, 2025

I've purchased the Razr Ultra nearly a month ago and I've been enjoying the device. It's very quick, impressive displays and good cameras. The outer display is very useful and can basically display any app you throw at it. Obviously, some apps just don't display properly, but that doesn't deter you from trying. The only issue I have had with the device is Moto AI, which is supposed to be able to do a ton of functionality but doesn't really work as seamlessly as it is advertised. I've had lots of situations where the AI application is stuck trying to find an answer or response and eventually comes up with an issue and wants me to try again later. At this point, I've used the AI button as a shortcut key to a more useful AI function like "Pay Attention". "Pay Attention" has it's issues but the most annoying one is it's not doing Speech to Text right off the bat. Even after the recording is finished, it will not attempt to convert the existing recording to text. I've had to restart many recordings until the Speech to Text started working properly. Regardless, I don't use these functions that often so it doesn't matter that much; but I also feel that due to the poor functionality, I'm less inclined to want to learn to use them even if the issues were resolved. Regardless of some software bugs (unable to mute alarms while phone is flipped closed, random reboots, AI functionality), the rest of the software suite is great with minimal bloatware and the stuff that is there is what I would have wanted to have. The support of 3 years I believe is an appropriate time frame as I feel almost all users would upgrade their phone at the 2-3 year mark. Let's be honest here, the device will have slowed considerably by the 3 year mark and there's a good chance the screen will break by then. If this device could live beyond 2 years without a broken screen, I'd be very surprised. That's why you buy insurance or a coverage plan. Great device overall and I've recommended it to others as well.

I love it.

So far, I love the Razr Ultra. The folding feature is great and makes it easy and convenient to carry in my pants pocket. The phone is quite customizable, with the ability to set different sounds for different notifications, and you can customize or add wallpapers. You can customize the external screen views also. Time will have to tell how well the folding screen holds up.

Good functionality & features, unsure about camera
on October 16, 2025
Posted by: Cheyenne
I bought this phone about 2 weeks ago and I do like all the functions it offers, how customizable it is, and that you can put it on a focus mode that will only allow you to use certain apps during the time it is on. I moved from Apple because I wanted to try something new, and get a folding phone to try to stay off my device a bit more. Another thing I like is the camera function being able to take a selfie from the back camera, while still being able to see what is in the shot.
I chose this phone over the Samsung z flip because I thought the camera would be better, but honestly its not that great.
Camera specs are as follows:
Front facing camera: Motorola - 50mp, Samsung - 10mp
Rear facing camera: Motorola - 50mp, Samsung - 50mp
Ultrawide camera: Motorola - 50mp, Samsung - 12mp
Digital zoom: Motorola - 30x, Samsung -10x
Overall, I like the phone itself and the design, but I am having a bit of buyers remorse because of the camera quality.

I may not have the 2025 yet and plan to either purchase this or whatever comes out in 2026...!! I've had the razr 2023 from cricket wireless and it is by far one of the best if not THE!! best android device I've ever purchased... Went from an iPhone 14promax 512 GB to the razr. I've had notes and galaxies the like...had an original razr from the early days too, I'm so glade moto revamped this phone and I can't wait to see what they add in the future..... Now if they could add a side flip like the sidekick!!! Now that would be sick!!!
