Horrible cap design filled with water and started carrying them from truck to picnic table both were leaking from cracked caps. After looking both caps are to thin to not crack. Very poor design.

I love the size, shape, and convenience of this container. However, the plastic cap cracked after less than a year of VERY gentle use. (Refilled twice and mainly sat in closet for emergencies.) Essentially useless as an emergency container now since it doesn't seal and can't take it camping since it leaks. Apparently, this is not an uncommon deficiency and as mentioned in other reviews, replacement caps are not available. Overall, an unsatisfactory product with no convenient solution to defect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this jug for water storage and after reading some of the negative reviews I realized I will be making some modifications on this product. I was hoping that Igloo had a spigot option available so that I could lay the jug on its narrow side and dispense water as needed. No spigot is apparently made for this jug. There are also many reviews of the original caps cracking or tearing apart. Not good to read. So I'm going to go find a spigot that will work with this jug and adapt it. I'm not throwing it away prematurely but I intend to install a working spigot. Right now the product is doing fine but I'm keeping an eye on it.
Defective caps, no replacement. You are a fool to buy this until Igloo supplies replacement caps that are redesigned. Cap breaks the first time you use these jugs.
Bought a pair as part of my earthquake emergency kit. Filled them once and they just sat in a closet. Two years later the caps are cracked. As others have mentioned, replacements aren't available. Disappointing.
I bought one of these for camping with Scouts, and some of the kids lost the spout and sealing cap. Replacement parts seem to be unavailable, I've emailed Igloo regarding parts and am waiting on a response. The container itself seems to br good quality and easier to store than the Reliance 7 gallon cubes we have also.
The containor cap broke and the customer service said there are no caps available although a prior email review claimed that Igloo sent them a new cap . Internet. search failed to find any replacement parts. This is an expensive containor that is worthless with a broken cap. Suggest. buying a from different company.
