Great Headlamp, better customer service!!

Been using this light to hunt shark teeth at night, was great until internal batter failure at about 8 months. The customer service I received from COAST was incredible, their warranty and ease of initiating warranty is by far the best in the flashlight/headlamp space. To boot, I talked to an actual human with minimal effort. New unit shipped immediately. I'll never use another brand flashlight or headlamp. Thanks COAST!!

This is a great headlamp! I have had many headlamps from a bulky 4D light to the present FL85R I love it is compact, the flood to a beam light and the green and red light options. I like the rechargeable and 3 triple A battery option. By far the best light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great product! The light is extremely bright and is a must have for any outdoors man like myself. I am very pleased with the battery life and the time it takes to charge. The best feature I would say is the variety of setting that this light has.

I bought my headlamp a couple of years ago and love the hands-free ability it gave me while camping. My hinge broke and I thought I was just going to have to deal with it that way since the light still worked great. Love the multiple settings by the way! When planning another trip I thought I should try to get a replacement part. I reached out to Coast and, to my surprise, all it took was a picture of the broken hinge and the wonderful customer service rep had a new headlamp shipped out to me!! Thanks for the great service!

Best light for wearing on your head or on your hat

A fantastic product. I’am 77 years old. I walk twice a day usually 5 miles the first walk during the afternoon. I take my second walk around 8 P.M. anywhere from 5 to 7 miles. I wear knee sleeves for support and use a cane as a precaution.
I live in Michigan, when wearing the FL85R I set it on the highest light exposure and have it tilted down one notch. This way I can see if their is any black ice in front of me. I then can be very careful walking over the black ice. A great plus when when taking my dog on the night walks as my hands are free to hold the leash if I need to as I have my dog trained to heel off leash.
The rechargeable battery lasts the entire walk at night which is usually 2-3 hours depending on weather conditions.
The safety vest with the rechargeable rear red light is also a fantastic product.

Very bright light with more than enough battery. I like the fact that it's a dual power source, meaning that you can use regular batteries or the rechargeable one that comes with it. The only minor drawback is that it's got some weight behind it so after wearing it for a few hrs, you'll notice it after take it off! As an owner of a the smaller FL1R I was drawn back to the company based on how much I love that little light. Once again, no disappointment. Yes, I would recommend this light.

Amazing warranty

I bought a version of this light probably 7 years ago. A week ago, I noticed the white light had given out while the red still worked. I created an account with COAST, filed a claim, took a picture of my broken light, and they sent me a brand new light for free. With products that last 7 years and customer service like this, I will be a life time customer.

Apocalyptic durability!

Bought this and have been using for six weeks. Just accidentally ran through a commercial washer and dryer and it still works fine. Decent battery life also.
