Trimmer is a beast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right out of the box this trimmer seemed solid and very capable of doing it's job. It was easy to go through the start up and assembly instructions to get the trimmer into operation. Once the battery had a full charge I took the trimmer out to handle some of my taller shrubs that had been difficult to trim in the past.
With this tool there were no issues in reaching areas that were a problem in the past.
Adjusting the trimmer head made the job very straight forward, with much time was saved to complete those higher trim jobs. Overall feel was solid and handling was very intuitive with the safety of the two triggers to operate the blade on the shrubs. I'm very impressed by the ease of use and overall functionality of the trimmer.
The charging time did not take very long and the battery held up long enough to complete the bigger portion of the trimming needed to be done. While cleaning up the first round of trimming the battery had been charged back up to full capacity, ready to carry out what was lined up next for it.
With this tool there were no issues in reaching areas that were a problem in the past.

Convenient Trimmer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The trimmer was easy to assemble. I was concerned that the battery would add weight, but that was not the case. The pivoting trimmer head made it easy to trim the top, front and back of a 4' X 30' X 18" hedge next to a wall. I completed my trimming of several bushes within an hour without any loss of power.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed the ability to SAFELY trim tall hedges. This Greenworks pole hedge trimmer hits the mark. The multi positioning head allows me to trim tall hedges comfotably and safely.
The battery powered the trimmer for about 40 minutes and provided ample power to trim my abrovitaes and other hedges. The balanced feel of the pole is a plus.
The 4 year warranty gives piece of mind that the product is backed by greenworks and is durable.
Lastly, if safety matters to you when trimming hedges buy this pole hedge trimmer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Here is the 24v hedge trimmer. I didn't look at the manual at all on purpose. I figured it should be simple enough to use without reading first.
Easy peasy! There were a few things I had to stop and think about for about 30 seconds thou, one was a safety feature (see below). There is a cool design on the extension tubes where you can add more friction to keep it extended.
First impressions and wonderments: 24v seems too weak to actually do anything. I have the 80v blower and it can blow the chrome off a bumper 9;-).
It's also fairly heavy. I'm no weakling, but I'm not a muscle-man either. After awhile, I appreciated its heft, tho: it was like a mini-workout.
This machine has tons of safety features! Besides the basic trigger, you have to slide a lever at hold it at the same time and THEN you have to squeeze the bar above it.
The pivoting head is fantastic! I was swinging this gizmo scythe-like, trimming the sides of a hedge and I didn't have to contort myself to make good trims.
Does it cut? You betcha! and it does it really well. I wanted to spend more time with it, but it was so fast, I finished earlier than expected. I had to trim juniper bushes, some with fairly thick branches (like the size of one of my fingers) and the blades on this trimmer handled them with ease.
OK, Pros:
• 24v is more than adequate.
• It's quiet.
• Trims fast (but curiously, the blades don't seem to oscillate as fast as a regular corded machine).
• The pivoting blade head. Once you try this, you'll never go back.
• The extension handle. You don't have to be up close to what you're cutting so you have a better view/perspective on what you're doing.
• Extremely well made.
• The slower cutting speed of the blade makes you THINK before you cut, instead of just cutting everything fast and then having regrets.
• No more cutting through power cords (oops!) or having to do the power cord dance.
• Three step safety features.
• Can cut through fairly large branches (about your finger's diameter)
• Easy to figure out how to work it.
Cons:
• Fairly heavy, but the balance is good.
• NOT compact! You have to find a place to store it so that your Significant Other isn't overly annoyed.

No more ladders, no more extension cords

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 Greenworks tools using the same 24v battery. I have been very impressed with them and the ease of swapping out batteries. I have previously used an electric hedge trimmer which is not only cumbersome, but has resulted in 2 accidents cutting the cord!
This 24v Hedge Trimmer seems just as powerful as my electric trimmer and can cut branches up to 5/8 inch. The attached picture of my side yard hedges is one example where this tool comes in handy. I had to to use a small step ladder with my old trimmer to level the tops. The extended reach of this unit let me top trim easily. Not only the tops, but I have discovered the extension makes the bottoms of bushes much easier to trim as well.
I don't know the exact run time since I can trim all my bushes on one battery. The good news is I also use the same battery for my string trimmer and blower, so with 3 batteries I will never have range anxiety!
The only con I would say would be the weight for someone that doesn't have a a lot of strength. I am a big guy and my arms tired quickly working the tops of the bushes. This may also be a testament to the robust build quality.
All in all, another great product from Greenworks!

Perfect for hard to reach places

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this extension hedge trimmer, and so has my neighbor with great success. First, I love that the 24v battery is the same one that I use in my Greenworks drills and other yard tools. I have trimmed holly trees and Carolina Blue Cypress trees with no issues, cuts all branches like cutting butter. That was the term that my neighbors used. The extension locks might need to be tightened with a screw driver, but once set right they are perfect.
My father has the 40v version of the extension and has used it for almost 4 years on his huge 10' tall Elaeagnus 2 times a year, and his boarder hedge is about 100'-120' long.
I would recommend this to a friend!
