Comes off easily and spills your shavings everywhere

Absolutely horrible product.
Despite the fact that the shave isn’t as clean, the razor itself opens on its own very easily. When I travel, it just spills my shavings all over my clothes and bags.
Bring back the old RQ12. The comfort of that razor made my mornings.
Pros: easy to use. doesn’t take a genius
Cons: bad design, razor top very loose
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

poor design for cleaning

Verified Purchase:Yes
I was still using a shaving head (RQ12) which had the easy to use flip up cutters which made cleaning much more convenient than the than the new replacement head (RQ12/62). The new head is more cheaply made yet cost considerably more than the original.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Flawed Design - Buyer Beware

I am one of those longtime Norelco Shaver users and for the first, I have personally experienced a shaving head with a flawed design. I wanted the SensoTouch 3D RQ12 shaving head. However, the nice representative at Norelco advised me that the RQ12 is no more and is being replaced by the RQ12+. I was told that is does a better job of shaving, but the interior orange cutting head retainer is flawed in design. Every time I finished shaving the retain broke free of its lock mount and it and the cutter blade fell out after I removed the head for cleaning. Now the other retainer / cutter blades are doing the same thing. From my physics perspective, the retainer clip is too flexible to keep the cutter blades installed. Norelco needs to recall these heads and initiate a re-design.
Pros: close shave, excellent customer service via chat
Cons: engineering flawed design, must reinstall some cutter blades after each shave, too expensive for flawed design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing razor

Although this razor charges quickly, the charging system is plugged into the stand, so if you are travelling, you must pack the stand with your razor for recharging. The cut is mediocre and the shaving cutter heads last only 6 months. The cost of replacing the cutting heads are extremely costly, to the point of just purchasing another electric razor. The cleaning system is cumbersome and lengthy.
Pros: charges quickly
Cons: heads get dull quickly and are very costly to repl, the charger plus into the stand not the shaver, the cleaning system too cumbersome

Thought my 5 yr old blades should be replaced for a better shave... Wrong. New blades suck. Not near as close shave as old blades and hard on my skin. Sending them back. Can't believe Norelco would sell and manufacture a product like this.

HORRIBLE

The 1280x Razor is awesome, IF you have the original RQ12 head.
Once I replaced the head due to age, that's when the problems started. The RQ12+ is absolutely HORRID. It pulls and feels like sharp metal dragging across my face. Shave time is increased and not even a close shave anymore.
I thought I had received a bad head until I read the reviews online.
Sounds like many experience the same problems.
I ended up putting my year and a half old original head back on and it is still better than this new replacement.
I would give it 0 stars but at least 1 star is required.
PLEASE BRING THE RQ12 BACK!
Pros: plug and play
Cons: no close shave, increased shave time, pulls, feels like sharp metal dragging across my face
