This replacement head is lower quality than the original, the shaving experience is not as good and closer to a lower cost razor, ie rough and not so smooth to the skin. I don't know why the design changed but this is inferior to the original

I bought the replacement head and received a New Style HQ12 replacement head. It does not shave as good as the original head. The worn out replaced head shaves better than the new one. I would not recommend buying this replacement head but there are no other options.

Terrible Replacement for the RQ12

I bought the new RQ12+ and it just doesn't shave well. I go over and over the same spots to finally get an ok shave. I've gone back to the RQ12 and even though it's old, the shave is so much closer.
Don't buy the RQ12+!

Lasted two months, and now damaged from weekly cleanings

Bad engineering and false advertising by Philips: 1. On the Philips website, the webmaster uses an enlarged photo of the original RQ12 shaver head that has hinged blades for ease of cleaning. When Joe public navigates through the portal by clicking this enlarged photo, he may not be aware that the product is not the original hinged-blade head that came with the original razor. FALSE ADVERTISING.
2. The efficiency of the Philips series 8000 Shaving Head RQ12/62 lessened each time I disassembled it for a weekly cleaning. There is significant issues with re-seating the head's components when re-assembling. After two months of using this falsely advertised product that I bought, the shaving head fell apart while I was shaving, and I was too disappointed to re-assemble it.
SUMMARY: Great Philips razor, but now with horrible replacement heads. I am now doing research with vendors that sell electric razors, because of the bad quality of the RQ12/62 and the dubious advertising ploys being used by Philip.
Pros: thought it would only last 1 month but lasted 2.
Cons: less efficient after each weekly cleaning., fell apart while shaving., only lasted two months.

Norelco changed the design of the original RQ12. The new Pro or plus model is cheaply made with plastic parts that break easily. It also didn't shave as well and wasn't convenient to clean. After 43 years I will have to say goodbye to Norelco! So sad.
Pros: none
Cons: terrible

Close shave but poor design, I think!

I have an old Norelco Arcitec 1060X. I thought I would like to try the upgrade to the new RQ12PRO shaver head. It shaves very close but in the center of the head, if you are not careful, the inside edges will catch your lip! It's akward to shave your lip and around your mouth! Unfortunately you cannot purchase the original style head for replacement. I will use the new head and try to get used to it but fortunately I know how to sharpen my old blades and may revert to them! I am on the fence as far as recommending the new RQ12PRO shaver head!
The older RQ12 is a better performer than the RQ12+. The new one tends to pull the hairs as opposed to actually cutting them off. The older version is way better as far as comfort of the shaving experience goes. If my wife had not of thrown the old RQ12 head away, I would have changed back to the older version and had the blades sharpened. I just like the old version lots better. I have used the 1250C Sensor Trac3d since it was originally introduced. LOVE IT.
Pros: larger cutting(pulling) surface
Cons: not as comfortable a shave, shaving blade assembly comes off way too easily, haeds are more noisy than the older model.
