NEW BLADES PIECE OF JUNK

The original heads (RQ/52) that came with my razor were great. Smooth shave, quiet and cut super smooth without pulling. The replacement blade you sent (RQ12/52) is a PIECE OF JUNK. Hard to clean with that cheap plastic thing which you have to try to get it to fit just right. The replacements are nothing like the original. Cheap replacement from the original which opened like a butterfly and they were much easier to clean. Now you have forced me to find a new company to buy from and I have used your product for years. You won a super bowl but lost a customer.
Cons: new blades worthless

I am another disappointed customer. The new rq12+ head is not as good as the original. Whilst it's okay for my neck area, I simply cannot get a decent shave on my jawline or moustache. In fact for those areas I use my 2.5 year old rq12 head as it still gives a better shave. I also made the mistake of removing the plastic blade locator rings, refitting them is a nightmare as they must be properly centered or they slip out of position. I've have resorted to using the Jetstream cleaning fluid mixed 50/50 with water. (It still works just as well)
Surely a pack of foils and blades could have been supplied for the old heads instead of this cheaper inferior product

I have been a loyal customer of this product for 10 years - I absolutely love the razor & have had zero problems w/it until now - You have changed the razor head to the 'Philips Norelco Shaving unit RQ12Senso Touch 3D and it is terrible - It catches on my skin - Doesn't shave close - And in NO WAY compares to the old one - I have read many reviews on this & the verdict across the board seems to be 'IF IT ISN'T BROKE - DON'T FIX IT " -

The RQ12 plus is a big minus.

I had a SensorTouch 3D with the original blades. When these got dull I brought the RQ12+ replacement. They were no where near as good as the older blades. I went back to using the older original for another 6 months then had to use the replacement. I decided to buy the series 9000 which had the cleaner. I've been using that system for over a year with the daily cleaner. The shave is nowhere as good as the original RQ12 was. I have even tried the old blades to compare.
As it is now time to replace the blades again and Philips hasn't brought back the original RQ12. It's time to look elsewhere as I don't want to use a manual on workdays.

Bring back the old RQ12

The RQ12+ is a terrible replacement for the original shaving head.
I bought a Norelco 7000 because you can't easily find original heads for the 1280X. My 3 or 4 year old 1280X cutting head outperforms the brand new Norelco.
I won't buy another Norelco until they "make Norelco great again." All kidding aside, I won't.
The 1280X appears to have been the apex of Norelco quality.

Quality of product is poor

I have the 1280x and have nothing bad to say about, perhaps the best one i have used.
However this RQ12+ is a complete waste of money and is no true replacement as it does not carry the same quality of design as the original shaving head that came with the product.
It does not have the same movement as the regular one and I am annoyed that this is what the "replacement" is.

Bring back old head

I've been trying to use this razor for some time since I replaced the head. I've finally given up as it is just too uncomfortable. I doubt I'll be getting another Norelco Razor. Currently I'm back to a blade and shaving cream. Faster, easier, and far more comfortable. I was hoping that by now they would produce something better, but I just checked online and this is it.

Cons: see review very uncomfortable

Rated a 5 star until I needed to replace RQ12 head (discontinued) with inferior RQ12+

For the first year the Norelco 1280XCC with the RQ12 head was to date the best Norelco razor I have ever owned and I've had about 7 or 8 over the past 40 years. I only upgrade about every 5 years to get the latest technology not because the old ones stopped working. After about 18 months I attempted to find a new head or just fresh cutters and found the head discontinued and replaced with the only option the RQ12+. Since every razor I have gotten was a better shave over the previous I expected even better results. What a mistake! The RQ12+ is bad! Noisy,rough, irritating shave not nearly as close, comfortable or fast as the original RQ12. It's a giant step backwards in shave quality of at least 20 years. Don't your engineers test a new product before discontinuing the old? I've searched for hours online and nobody has any RQ12's left except for a couple gougers charging more than the entire razor or Chinese replacements of questionable quality. My favorite shaver now is nearly worthless and I've gone back to using my old 9195XL...or the now over 2 year old original head that shaves smoother and closer than the new 12+! I've tried foil razors in the past but have always preferred the triple heads. Guess I'll have to give the competitors latest another try as it appears Norelco has lost there edge.

Cons: rq12+ replacement head horrible step back 20 years, original rq12 head unavailable anywhere!
