I bought a magic bullet 5 years ago and it worked really well. Unfortunately it died recently, a good long life for a kitchen appliance to be sure. So I buy a new one. Not the same. When it runs it makes a foul chemical burning smell. The LAST thing I want to smell in my kitchen let alone right before I drink the smoothie. Either I got a defected one or Nutribullet cheap’d out after years of making a quality product to increase margin by selling garbage-quality stuff. Shame. I used to buy these as gifts.
Worked great until tried to make 4 smoothies in a row and the motor burned out! Same thing happened to my daughter's Magic Bullet! Definitely would not recommend. Too expensive to change motor!
Just got my magic bullet yesterday and I made a terrific smoothie it came out amazing looking forward to making alot of other thing's with the magic bullet......
Got this for shakes and such and began using it a lot recently now that my infant son is beginning solids. It began accumulating black dust underneath. Didn't think much of it. Wiped and washed it off frequently area on other side of the blade underneath the blade. My husband was curious and ran it with water and it all came up from the seal - turning the water gray. This whole time I had been feeding this to my child. I am sick to my stomach and so upset. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! You will be consuming plastic out right. Magic Bullet better hope my child does not suffer due to this.
Don't get me wrong, I am happy with this product. I love it for single serving smoothies. But it's just not very good for making any of the other things they claim it should be able to do: hummus, pico, dicing onions. The product isn't really able to do much beyond blending things completely. Also, it has never been able to chip/crush ice for me. It makes a horrible sound and the ice cubes just tend to bounce around in the blending cup without anything actually happening to them, which has been the one thing I've found to be fairly disappointing.
Our Magic Bullet just bit the dust. We purchased it in October of 2006. We used it every moring to make our protein shakes plus other times for various purposes.Fantasic product
The second time I used the new Bullet to blend a protein shake (all liquid) the rubber drive gear on the underside of the blade that engages the drive motor impeller completely fractured. Shortly there after a second one broke doing the same thing.Obviously a product defect. When it worked it worked great, but the only "Magic" about the Bullet is if it works. This is another product based on a great idea that is built so cheaply it does not last long enough to justify the purchase price. I definitely would not recommend. Just buy a regular blender; I have one the we received as a wedding present 50 years ago and it still works.
