Sound cuts in and out. Worse after 2 weeks of use

I had bought the iLive Bluetooth® Sound Bar With Wireless Subwoofer after reading the reviews here.
I connected the soundbar via Optical cable since the other option was an audio cable and no HDMI.
After the second movie the soundbar kept cutting out every so often.
I replaced the optical cable with a brand new one and it didn't help.
After watching a couple more movies over a week to see if it would get better, it only got worse. The sound constantly cuts out throughout the movie.

I have tried with an external Blue Ray player, online streaming and downloaded movies. All audio cuts out.
I also changed the setting on my TV from "auto" to "PCM" in the Optical section. Does not help.
This soundbar is pretty much useless now and beyond the 14 day return from the store I bought it from?

If you are to purchase this, I reccomend watching a few movies right away to see if this happens.
Only audio connection options are optical cable and Stereo Audio 3.5mm Auxiliary cord.
No HDMI option.
No HDMI option.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has good sound, good overall sound bar. However, the optical cable to connect to TV is not that great. So unless you have Bluetooth on your TV or another way to connect it won’t work with the TV. However just for a good way to play some music in the man cave it worked great!
