it is great in the summer and cools very well

This unit is great in the summer and cools off very well, however in the winter time i have this in a 400 sq ft shop with only 9 ft ceilings well insulated and it takes several hours to take the chill out and my electric bill is is insane. i bought this unit only to take the chill out and did not think it would take the place of a larger gas unit but very disappointed in the heating aspect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great DIY Split System

I bought this system & installed it with my cousin. We didn't need to buy any tools we didn't have except for a large drillbit. We did need to extend the electric but did it ourselves. It was hot this past summer and the system kept up even on the hotest days. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the heating isn't able to warm my space when the temp goes below around 30°F. I'm in South Jersey near Atlantic City. But I'd recommend this system based on the 5 months I've been using it.

I got this over a year ago and we love it! The only thing we were not crazy about is that we were not able to get the app to work with the unit, but as far as the unit goes, it is amazing. We are very very happy with it!

Reliable, quiet, economical

Installed a DIY 24K MrCool fall of 2017, flawless operation both heating and cooling modes ever since. Installed a DIY 18K MrCool at my other place four months ago and is working as well as the other one. Haven't used it in cooling mode yet. In both installations the indoor unit was a struggle to hang onto its mounting bracket. It has to slid down onto the metal tangs and I and my helper just had to keep trying until it seemed right. Otherwise not too hard to install.

Love My Mr Cool!

I replaced an old electric furnace in my garage with the 18k unit. The DIY model was as advertised...very easy to install. I finished on a 95* day in July, shut the garage and fired up the unit. Within 2 hours the humidity was gone and the temp was 76*. Unless you have an electrical background like me, you only have to hire an electrician. I now have heat and AC in my 3-car garage running off only 20 amps....compared to the 90amps of the old beast.
