I have been using the (my) new Window Cam as a star camera. Yes, I put one in a weather tight box added a domed clear plexi port on top and let it run day and night looking up at the skies. This camera is so sensitive I can track more stars, satellites and aircraft than I can see with just my eyes. So far I have tracked a meteor bursting overhead one early morning. I have one window cam on the front of my home and filmed the northern lights one night so I wondered what would happen if a window cam was pointed at the dark skies we have here in Lakeview Oregon. Thanks for making a fun camera that can be used for some off the wall ideas!

Thank you for your positive feedback! We're glad to hear you're enjoying the crystal-clear image quality and would recommend Wyze. We truly appreciate your support! Please contact our Wizards team at https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us if you ever need any assistance.
Reduced glare from the morning sun was great! But the camera angle isn't wide enough and recording time not long enough to capture the activity needed for my safety and security.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We’re glad the reduced glare helped, but we understand how important a wider view and longer recording are for your safety and peace of mind. Our Wizards team would love to help explore settings or options at https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us. Thank you again for choosing Wyze.
This cam is designed specifically for window mounting and its feature set is tailored for that purpose. Like all of my other Wyze products, it was very easy to set up (although it did take a couple tries to get my two window cams to connect to my iPhone for initial setup). I also have older Wyze cams with the company's own window mount. I find that the older window mount does a better job of blocking out light entering from the sides of the cam. With the window cams, there is some flare at the edges of the image when indoor lights are on. There is much less flare with the old window mount. However, the horizontal field of view on the new window cam is much better, which I find particularly useful because when window mounted there is no ability to angle the cam to cover a specific area. Overall, I would buy these again.
I like the way the camera stays on the window and is not visible from the outside. But I gave a 4 star rating because I live in a bad neighborhood and I keep track of sketchy activity on my street. However, the camera does not have the capacity to capture crystal clear images from about 50 feet away. That's the distance from where the criminal activity takes place.
