Great Gripping Strength

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a teacher and used this to secure things to the wall in my classroom. We live in a very humid climate and I cannot get anything to stay on the painted cement block wall. I used this so I can change out my posters for the seasons.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a problem with a rug sticking to a step for the dogs doggy door.. Everything came loose.. This sticks great! No more problems and I can still take off and wash it! Didn't put in the dryer but it held up well threw the wash! Great Product!

A fastener for just about everything!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are looking for fasteners for just about any use inside or outside, the Scotch Extreme Fasteners are what you need. We used them outside to hang up some heavy metal signs and they are awesome. The adhesive bonds very well to the surfaces and the amount of weight they can hold is superb. So far they have been resistant to the wet mornings and hot sun during the day. We've found additional uses for hanging up things inside the house as well as using the fastener to seal things (eg. curtain around a window). And while 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate, we really think it's great!

Excellent Product Provides Grip When Velcro Fails

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I’m impressed with 3M’s Extreme Fastener. Although it is similar to traditional hook-and-loop fasteners (i.e., Velcro), it is superior in many respects and fills a much-needed role for many common situations. Although Velcro still has its place in the home and workshop, this product was made for the outdoors.
Dirt and moisture are the greatest nemesis of hook-and-loop technology, as either will temporarily render the fastener ineffectual during exposure and in the case of gritty sand, permanently clog the material to render it completely useless. The fuzzy loop fabric easily captures dirt and sand, thereby inhibiting the ability of the hoop fabric to obtain a decent grip. 3M’s Extreme Fastener avoids contamination of the fuzzy stuff altogether by eliminating it altogether. Instead, the product relies upon two identical interlocking surfaces bonded onto what appears to be VHB tape backing. Even wet, the hooks will grip each other firmly. Fine sand and dirt fall harmlessly between the hooks. Slightly grittier desert sand will still manage to collect, but it can readily be brushed free of the material.
Some things to consider; a) like typical hook-and-loop products, 3M’s Extreme Fastener comes with two rolls… but they’re identical, b) load-bearing capacity as stated on the package is a tad confusing, claiming both a 10-lb limit but also stipulating 2 lbs per inch, c) like Velcro, there is no alignment requirement - it will hold together regardless of the orientation of the two surfaces, and d) it requires significant pressure to engage the two mating pieces, more so than hook-and-loop.
On that last point, it seems to engage easier if you “walk” the two opposing pieces together in a heel-toe fashion. To take apart, pulling directly apart seems to work best. Sheer strength is maximal, whereas tension is minimal - something to consider if you’re intending to suspend something overhead from the ceiling… DON’T!
I’m very pleased with this product and intend to keep one roll in the motorhome and the other in my toolbox. Only time will tell how well the adhesive holds up under extreme weather conditions. If it's still holding in a year, I'll come back and give it a 5-star rating.

Great Stuff

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this item as a sample and it blew my mind away with how well it works. At first I wasn’t sure what I could use it on but shortly after that, my car got broken into and realized that my car’s sun visor was broken in the process. It no longer stayed up in place. I used less than an inch of this product. (About half an inch on both ends) and it held the visor in place without a single problem. It definitely is strong and it was absolutely no problem sticking onto fabric.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is exactly what I expected from Scotch/3M. This stuff is versatile, strong and easy to install. I used it similar to what you see on the package and it worked great. I was able to keep a tarp in place, even with some wind and rain. I am planning on buying more for some other projects where I think this will come in handy. I would definitely recommend this product.
