We purchased this machine as it was advertised as a SilentShredder and Ultra Quiet. However, it has the same noise level that our older shredder had. there is no way to turn the noise level down. When we asked about this the answer was more or less Oh Well! So if you what something quiet do not purchase this machine. We would give it a zero if possible since the reason for the purchase was the quiet ability
Pros: Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs
Cons: not silent as advertised
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi needsquiet. We are sorry the noise level is not acceptable to you. This unit features a 56 dB. Comparatively, a normal conversation would be approximately, 60 dB. Best One Yet

This is my third, OOPs fourth fellows shredder. The others are still working and one, a PS 75, has got to be over 20 years old and still working fine. I wouldn't have considered another brand.
Pros: Quality Construction, Quiet Operation, Secure Cut Size, Sheet Capacity

Quite Shred

This is by far the quitest shredder I have ever own and I've had three in the past 20 years. I love the style and it fit very well under my desk, when it's not getting a workout. And it will get a workout! I have about 70 reams of papers to shred this year. This is a great product to help me acheive a paperless office and lifestyle. Digitize and shred!
Pros: Mess Reduction, Quiet Operation, Secure Cut Size, Service Guarantee, Sheet Capacity, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Warranty, great size
Cons: bin construction, no bag retainers

I work at a school and so far it has been great ,we have had it about 2 weeks now. love that it is on wheels, nice design

Cons: sometimes it takes some work to get the paper in

Have already completed today's max shredding and all went so smoothly and very quiet. Product is easy to move around on the castors once I got them installed. Had to use a rubber hammer on two of them. It handled 15 sheets very quietly. Wish the manual had included oiling instructions and had to discover online.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Secure Cut Size, Sheet Capacity, Warranty, very quiet even with stapled paper
Cons: manual could be larger to read

good product - problem with manual

I have only used the product to shred three bins of waste so my review may be a bit premature. My only complaints thus far - (1) the manual provided with the product is missing the portion that discusses the paper feed monitor (when you include too much paper or can insert more) and how to oil the machine. (2) The oil provided also does not tell you where to cut it to open it and I cut too low and now the cap does not fit. (3) the waste bin is flimsy and I do not know how it will hold up in use.

Cons: Quality Construction

Drawer feels cheap but it does the job

It's solid construction for the shredding but the pull out drawer for the waste feels cheap. So far, its doing the job.

Why didnt I buy this Shredder before

Over the last few years I had purchased a couple of different brands shredders, we never ran a staple or paperclip thru them, and hardly ever shredded more than 2 or 3 sheets of paper, And always emptied them appropatly. A few times I had to manually clean the cutting mechanisms to get them to operate correctly, even thou we tried they both eventually failed catastrophically. thou I have only owned and used our new Fellowes 99CI shredder for a few days , its already apparent that is a higher quality design, constructed well and will operate better and longer.
