Sweet Shredder

The Fellowes SB-99Ci was my 4th shredder purchased and to say the least, the old adage of you get what you pay for comes to mind from the less expensive shredders purchased in the past. From paper jams to blade damage, the other brands all had problems after a lot of use even with me doing the recommended maintenance.
Since I work from a home office and I often have my oldest daughter (10 years old) helping me with things like shredding paperwork, I was looking for a shredder that incorporated SafeSense Technology while at the same time allowing for loads of papers to be shredded at the same time. The Fellowes SB-99Ci provides me with that and much more, although I'm not too sure about the 17 sheets per pass. From what I've seen it's more like 10-12 sheets, but then again, I do shred a lot of envelopes along with papers as well.
Overall this is a very sweet shredder. With it being safe, first and foremost, quiet and dependable I can say that I'm very satisfied with my purchase thus far.

The first thing that struck me about my new shredder was the extremely quiet operation. I have owned several shredders but never have I owned one this quiet. The next thing I noticed was the way the machine "straigtens out" papers which are not vertically inserted, thereby eliminating jambs. Also, the machine can "power thru" batches that are a little too thick, eliminating the need to reverse the feed, separate the pages, and feed in a smaller batch.
I like the feature which shuts the shredder down if the motor overheats, saving the machine from major overheating failure.
All in all, a great machine for the money.

Great shredder

We purchased this shredder several months ago & it has worked great so far. It's much more quiet than our old shredder, holds much more & shreds staples, paper clips & CDs as easily as paper. The non-jamming feature is also great. My only complaint is that the drawer tears holes in the bags & makes emptying a problem.
Pros: Jam Resistance, Quiet Operation, Secure Cut Size, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs
Cons: messy, bags tear when opening the drawer

Great shredder

We purchased this shredder to replace a more expensive one that did nothing but jam, and eventually the motor overheated and died. This shredder is quiet and works wonderfully. We are really glad we purchased this product.

Best Shredder I've Used to Date

Got this shredder (the SB-99Ci) back in February 2009 and have been using it since. No jams yet, and it shreds through everything I've thrown at it. I mainly shred junk and sensitive mail and usually stock pile them and shred them in one sitting. The 17 sheet capacity on this thing is awesome! It's wide enough to accommodate most shreds without much action on your part other than feeding things to shred through.
In the past, I've used and broken several cheaper, lesser capacity, lesser quality shredders (not Fellowes brand) so I can definitely tell the quality difference between them. The initial price may be (seem to be) a bit high but it's worth every dollar.
Just as a note, I didn't check off 'Service Guarantee' or 'Warranty' for 'Pros' for this machine, as I have yet to need to use either. I did register my machine when I first got it though.
Bottom line is, if you shred things on a regular basis and want to save yourself some time and hassle of replacing jammed up shredders, get one of these. You won't regret your investment in this machine.

Very Satisfied

I have no complaints about this product at all. It has lived up to all my expectations.
The one criticism stems from the protection of the shipping carton. The edges were well protected, but the sides were not. UPS, tried their best to damage the unit with holes in the sides, that were not protected.

New shredder, works great

We just received this shredder and we have been using it for about a week. It is very durable and we have not had a jam yet! The only thing it needs is a power save mode so the little blue light does not have to stay on all the time.

I Love this Machine

Our old shredder was making a horrid noise and would only shred on sheet of paper and then only gradually. This machine is wonderful. It shreds anything I put in it and the only time is jammed is when the bag was full. Once I packed the paper down, it started right up again without pressing the start button again. I love this baby.
