Growing the business

I did NOT want to spend this much for a shredder! I am a small business owner and every dollar spent is a direct impact on net operating results. Our old shredder gummed up after five years of great service. Didn't think to oil it or it would probably continue to operate.
I did a lot of research and even brought a different one home, only to take it back to the store. Once we bought and used the Fellows, even my wife (the CFO) was pleased.
Spent a little more and got back a lot more. We couldn't be more pleased. Who would of thought that a shredder could be exciting. Spend the extra $ and don't look back!
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction, smooth and a very large capacity

Good performance

This is a very good, rugged shredder that I use in my small office. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because of the fact that the shredded pieces are so large that they don't compact. It shuts down when full and gets full fairly quickly for its size because of the size of shredded pieces of paper. If the pieces were smaller they would compact naturally and the bin wouldn't have to be emptied so often!
Other than that, I have no negatives for this shredder. Very good product.

just used the 99ci for the first time. most of the reviews i read were right on. had no problems with the shredder it self. preforms great. no jamming and i did 2 yrs. of business tax returns in a matters of hours instead of days. the only thing i would like to see is with the top part of the draw. when you close it, it feels like it's going to break. the top handle needs some more support. and while they are at it, they may want to figure a little better way to activate the shredder when closing the draw. sometimes you miss the little niche that they have. other then that this is a great machine.

Good except for initial setup

Setup was difficult, as the casters were not factory-installed. I had trouble getting them seated correctly, and the shredder is very heavy, so it was difficult to lift and test them until I was able to get them seated correctly. Once the unit was set up, it worked great. I'm quite happy with my purchase. I'm amazed at how quietly it runs! I had a previous shredder that was very loud. This is barely audible.

Good Replacement

This is my third Fellowes Shredder since 1999. This shredder replaced a DM8C which has given good service. The 99i which has casters gives mobility that was not offered by the DM8C. The bin is easy to use and remove and dump when not using bin waste bags. The Jam Proof System assists one to optimize production and will prolong the shredders life.
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size
Cons: Quiet Operation, about as much noise as dm8c

Good Shredder

I replaced a Fellowes DM8C after it worked flawlessly for 3 years of shredding just about everything to include my tie... I hope that this 99Ci will work and be as durable has the last fellow. :-) The picture is of the DM8C, it was great!

Great Machine

I had another brand of H.D. machine and it was a total pain to operate. It would jamb almost continually and I would have to take it apart to clean it out. The last time i used it and shut it down it refused to power up and would run in reverse only before it totally gave up running in that direction. I made as on-line search and found out the company also gave up. Thus I started looking for a company that was still around and decided that Fellows was the way to go. I have not used the machine a lot thus far but it seems real nice to have one that doesn't jamb up! It runs quietly and cuts the paper up nice and small. I am very satisfied thus far.
