Great Shredder!!

This is our 6th year as the academic support office here in the Learning Commons at Allegheny College, we have gone through 4 shredders that I can recall! The Powershred 99Ci has far exceeded my expectation. I like the electronic jam sensor with the light up indicator eliminating jams before they happen. This is extremely important in an office where there are many users, no more heading to the shredder only to find it jammed!
I am also very pleased with the safesense technology, I can now hand over the shredding pile to my work study students without the worry that they will get hurt.

Nice home use

Preforms very well. Motor not as heavy duty as stated, claims 17 sheet capacity, the most I have been able to run through is 10 sheets of 20 lb. paper and machine turns off. If this doesn't bother a person no big deal, I run normally 5 sheets at a time and its fine. Safety feature is very nice for people with small kids works flawlessly. The 9 gallon bin shuts off after 6 gal but that's 2-4 weeks shredding at home. All in all a very nice machine a little over priced but nice.

Hums... Very quiet shredder.

Very pleased with the shredder. It was purchased as a replacement after we 'killed' the old one. I was pleasantly surprised with how quiet the unit is when shredding and with its ability to shred a reasonable stack of papers smoothly. I do wish that there was a more secure way to attach the included bags in the bin as the paper pushes the bag edges down as it fills the bin even with the plastic 'pegs' on the front corners.

Almost perfect

This shredder is quiet, efficient, and safe. I love it. The only small quibble: the bin does not slip back on as smoothly as one might like. It takes a moment of jiggling to get it to close.

after doing some extensive research and confirming with a few friends (who have another brand of shredder) I then read an article in wired magazine that placed this model at the top of the list. I then purchased the product and have found it all true...it is a wonderful machine and fits my needs perfectly for my home business. thank you fellowes!

I bought this as a replacement for a shared office shredder that died (we had the old one for years). The complaint about the old one is that it frequently jammed, and still, some people kept trying to stuff too many papers in at one time. This shredder as an indicator with a colored scale (green-yellow-orange-red) that warns you if you are putting too much paper in. Which is a great visual for the person who kept stuffing too much in! It was easy to unpack from its package, and has a great design. We are loving it! Hopefully it will last the test of time and be with us for a long time.

SUPER QUIET

I just purchased this shredder as I had a mountain of personal papers to shred from my parents (also annual clean-out of kids and personal items). I wanted something that could operate for more than 5 minutes without a cool down period. This shredder fit the bill and is amazingly quiet. I would highly recommend this shredder to anyone who has a fair amount of shred on a regular basis.
