Had to find a way to sleep on a competitor's bed that I spent a fortune for but was unable to sleep comfortably on it even after they talked me into trying a bed topper that they sent me for free (to get me past the 100 night return policy). My new mattress was a little too soft, so I ordered this instead of a whole new mattress. It is firm and helped considerably. I'd read that the new cooler topper wasn't as firm, so I went with this one. It is pretty warm and hot flashes don't help.

This pad was perfect to top our 'full queen' r.v. mattress. The reason only 4 stars is how absolutely hard it gets during cool temperatures. But softens to perfection quickly as the room warms up. Worth the money, saves my back!

This is my second tempurpedic topper. The first one was purchased 12 years ago when I bought my tempurpedic mattress. I had to get a new topper after 10 years and bought a different brand, used for 6 months and ordered the tempurpedic topper. I tell everyone if you don't want to buy a new mattress get this topper. Best sleep ever!!

I was reading some of the other 1-2-3 star reviews before my topper came in. Most of them were saying it was either too hard or too soft and that there was a strong odor. So I was naturally curious to see what was true and wasn't. I immediately opened the package and placed it on top of my mattress and immediately there was in fact a very strong odor that came from the topper, my dog was kind of annoyed of the smell and avoided the bed for a few hours. Overall the smell only lasted a few days, and either I got used to it or it went away. As far as if its too soft or too hard, Its firm when you initially sit or lay but true to the memory foam style it slowly absorbs you. I noticed around my hip/butt area it sinks a little more than some of the other pressure points. It is relatively soft though, I'm a 170 pound male for reference. Also if you're a side sleeper, I highly recommend this topper almost no pressure on my shoulder which I lay on;it used to annoy me before having the topper. Might work for stomach and/or back sleepers but I have my doubts.

After 6 weeks, this topper remains very stiff and non-giving. I bought a 3" tempurpedic topper in 1998, and it had a more reactive and comfortable feel. I'm still a side sleeper, and my hip/knee is now sore upon waking. Now looking into a 2" soft topper for this topper.
