I spent a decent amount of time researching matters toppers with the hope of transforming my new overly firm mattress - till decideing on this topper. I've been using this for a month and my extremely firm bed is now plush and feels like I'm sleeping on a cloud. Many reviews mention the scent or smell. I didn't notice more than a slight packaging smell and slept on it that night. It 'puffed' up relatively quick, and after a few hours didn't seem to change much so I figured it was complete. I definitely would recommend this topper for someone looking to transform an old mattress or needing extra comfort on a new mattress. I feel like my sleep has improved not only by duration but the quality of my sleep has improved. I feel awake and rested since adding this to my bed; however my firm new mattress that I thought was perfect was far from after night two till this!

It says the topper is medium to firm. It is NOT. It is soft and hard to move around on. Its like sleeping in a melted marshmallow. I ended up in more pain after 3 days of sleeping on it. They refused to allow me to return it. False advertising on the quality and not willing to back up the 90 day return policy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
