[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our hybrid mattress was sinking. It was the kind of mattress that you cannot flip because the other side is like a hard board. We bought this temperpedic topper hoping it would help. It did but then the topper just sunk with the mattress. So..we flipped the mattress and let the hard side be up hoping the topper would be thick enough to work for a while. It worked! We've been sleeping that way for a month now. The topper ok too if the hard board like surface. It's like having a new mattress! The body pains from the sinking mattress have gone away as we are sleeping on real support. And it's extremely comfortable. No complaints. Such relief. Quite an affordable way to get a new mattress!

I have an older Tempur-Pedic mattress and when opening the zip cover, you will find a similar or the same top layer. What you miss is all of the thicker supportive foam layers underneath. If you have a firm and supportive layer, this is an enhancement/upgrade; but if you do not, the changes are minor since your largest/heaviest parts will still sink into the bottom layer's support. This is likely the case for those reviews indicating sleep issues with this product.

Luckily, my wife doesn't want one, otherwise we'd have to choose whether to have a gap between the toppers and having the toppers not quite reach the edges of the mattress.
