It arrived labeled as "medium" firmness. It's surprisingly soft. I sink into it. It isn't ideal for me and I regret not putting the few hundred towards the actual mattress, which this is not remotely close to. (But what can you really expect from 3"?) I imagine it would be great if you currently have something that really needs to be softened up. Also hope this isn't the cause of my out of the blue 10/10 neck & shoulder pain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
