I bought this because I was having horrific knee pain (djd & arthritis) that made it impossible to fall asleep and then stay asleep. We have a tempur-pedic mattress and it is only 6 years old. We rotated it and when that didn't work, we considered getting a new bed. I read the reviews and figured I would try the tempur-adapt over getting a whole new bed. I bought the tempur-adapt & cooling topper. Warning...when we unrolled it, it didn't look like much. But the first night we put it on the bed made all the difference!! It has been on the bed about 6 weeks now. We had to go buy new (deeper) sheets. So worth it! I still can't believe the difference. If only tempur-pedic would sell a king size mattress topper that had an incline in the middle of the bed to prevent your spouse from hogging the bed!

This topper transforms an ordinary mattress into a really excellent night's sleep. Very comfortable and pleasant experience. My only problem is that sheets do not fit tightly on the bed due to the material of the topper which does do what it is intended to do - keep you cool.

I suffer from back and neck pain and what I really wanted was a Tempurpedic mattress. Since I could not afford it, I had to settle for the topper, and I'm glad I gave it a try. When I lie on it the topper gently wraps my entire body giving no more stiffness to my back. I'm not sure its cooling effect is really working. Thus 4 out of 5 stars.

My husband and I bought this maybe 6 months ago. The cooling feature on this mattress is pretty much nonexistent. I would NOT pay the extra money for that feature. Not one single set of sheets that I have bought fit on the mattress without sliding all over the place. We have it now and we're stuck with it, but if I had the option to return it and get my money back I absolutely would. Save your money and just a tempurpedic bed later. I love their pillows. This mattress topper is the absolute worst though.
