[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a spine surgeon who gives advice to my patients on types of bedding to use to minimize low back pain, I purchased this product to add some softness to our stiff mattress. Further, as someone who doesn't sift through all of the fine print (I don't have time), I was led astray by the 90 day guarantee (with no disclaimer) showcased on the main landing page of the Tempurpedic website. Ultimately, the cooling topper is too soft, and caused my back to ache. Furthermore, as someone who sleeps hot, it did not do anything to mitigate (lessen) the heat. After 3-4 weeks I decided. that enough was enough and decided to ask for a return. Unfortunately, the phonelines were down for a week. Both my wife and I left messages. Finally we got a message a week and a half later stating that no return would be honored because the product was too "personal", and I was directed to the fine print on their returns policy page. I then decided to call to plead my case (again indicating that I was led astray by the advertisement on the first page that has no specifiers). After initial resistance I was directed to the escalation department and after about 2-3 hours of commitment to this effort at this point, I was told a manager named John would call me back. It's been about 2 weeks and despite a follow-up call to the escalation department I have heard from nobody. Terrible product, terrible customer service, misleading website. As a spine care provider, I highly recommend that you avoid this product and company. They used to be the standard of quality in bedding but clearly that priority has changed.

The cooling topper definitely cools me down a degree or two and I've had fewer sweaty nights. It feels like I'm floating in bed. Chronic hip pain lessened. My only complaint is that the cover only unzips halfway. After washing, it is a struggle to put it back on the insert.
