Completely rusted out

I've been very happy with my grill in general, but these grates are rusted out and chipping away within 2 years. It's gotten to the point now where I can't use the grill because it inevitably imbeds pieces of the grates into the meat. So I'm left with choosing between leaving my investment sitting there unused or dumping more money into replacements earlier than I feel I should have to. Disappointed.

I have the Broil King Model 9225-64. After One season of grilling, the coated grill grates are starting to rust and pit. Unacceptable for what i paid for this grill. Tried cleaning to no avail, porcelain starts comming off with mild nylon brushing.

I bought the Regal 420 a little over 6 years ago and need to buy my 4th set of replacement grids. Lucky if they last more than a season and a half. Same story every time. The coating starts to flake then it's rust city. Love the grill itself but the replacement grids are expensive and don't last.

Bought the Baron 440 this May. I kept it covered and used it only moderately this summer. Performed the recommended maintenance in terms of cleaning and seasoning the cast iron cooking grids. Started seeing rust appear on the grids midway through the summer. As it turns out, the porcelain enamel itself has clearly chipped away in myriad spots throughout the grids. (Picture attached). I probably used the grill a total of 30 times! I see there are now more expensive stainless steel grids being offered, probably as a result of this chipping problem! Happy with the grill itself, but not pleased at all about the grids.

I purchased my grill 2 years ago so I just finished my second summer with it and the grates are rusting out as well as the metal shields underneath. This BBQ is on a covered porch and is cleaned on a regular basis and seasoned. The replacement parts are ridiculous in terms of cost. I've owned a few good BBQ's but I'm not sold on these

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to post a review regarding your Broil King Grids. I am sorry to see that they have not been performing as you expected. We will be following up via email to learn more about your experience.
We bought a new Broil King Regal grill 18 months ago and even though we've seasoned the grill and kept the BBQ protected from the elements year round, the grills start rusting out this spring and are now flaking badly and are unusable. The replacement parts are quite expensive and it makes no sense to replace with another cast iron set. I'd appreciate some advice on a better alternative.
It's really unfortunate as the BBQ itself has been great.
