The light optic is fantastic. We have a V10 that we cherish ( yes, I mean to use that word) but my spouse is sight impaired and we thought we'd try this Detect model to see if it helps him. The light is great - I hope future Dysons will all have lighted attachments as well.

My Dyson V15 is an impressive engineering feat and quite convenient to use. Although it is a bit top heavy, it runs well on the battery pack and for a decent run time. However, like all portables, its suction is a bit limited for picking up more than light dust and hair on my laminate flooring. The convenience and portability does provide me with the ability to use it more frequently and struggling with my old Kenmore cannister vacuum to drag it out with its weight and bulk to discourage me. The Dyson, by contrast, is so light and maneuverable to use that I find myself reaching for it much more frequently, even if its suction is not as powerful. Also, the number of attachments is daunting to encounter. Trying to figure out the best combination of attachments can be challenging. I find the disposal of waste vacuumed up is conveninent and useful, again because it is superior to trying to empty a bag from my Kenmore cannister vac. The dust/debris detection feature is very helpful, especially for seeing light dust, hair, and particles that I wouldn’t otherwise see without the special lighting attachment on the vacuuming head. Overall, i like the convenience, portability, and relatively quiet operation. Dyson has put some real thought into the design of this device.

I had a 30 year old plug in Orek. I feel like I moved into the future with this vacuum! The suction is phenomenal! It’s lightweight and I am able to get underneath my furniture without moving it. I could not believe the hair and dirt that I was able to get out of my living room rug!

The suction on the V15 is great. I really enjoy the cordless feature, roller ball technology and easy cleaning. At first I thought the dust detection feature was a marketing ploy, but after using it, I’ve come to appreciate that as well. Great vacuum!
