This printer is better than those in the new Envy series that HP is now selling, but not as good as the 6410 (or 6420?) deskjet that I had for almost ten years! What a wonderful workhorse that was! It is faster, but the print and scan quality is not as good, and it seems to need to refresh itself often. I can't just walk in after not using it for a couple days and print something. It takes a few minutes to go through the cycle. But I needed something that would fit in my compact workspace, so I didn't choose the 8700 Pro series, which I think are fine machines. This meets my needs for a small home office with a full range of features and functions. I haven't used the new ink cartridges, so I can't review those at this time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I AM PLEASED WITH PRINTER . IT SET UP EASY . A LITTLE ISSUE WITH PAPER TRAY . BUT FIGURED IT OUT . HAVE A SCANER ISSUE . HAVING A ISSUE WITH SCANER WON'T MARRY WITH COMPUTER ?

The printer has not been as easy for me to adapt to as the last HP I had. I had difficulty with learning to scan items. I had previously had another HP printer, scanner and used both features easily.

Takes 15 minutes to print

Every time I go to print something, this printer goes into a 15 minute self cleaning process. Then when the sheet actually prints, it comes out with terrible quality and smudged ink. It did not do this when I first got it. It started after about the fifth time I went to print something. No settings have been changed since I've hooked this printer up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I would definitely buy it again. Large ink cartridges are available and last me forever! Quiet, fast, easy to set up and use. Compatible with all of my devices. And we can print from all of our Apple devices and Windows devices through my home network. Price was great, too!
