Have always had HP printers and have never had a bad one. They just keep improving and costing less than the previous one. Had a 6600 and it wore our. Got a 6978 and it is great and under $100 bucks. Easy to set up and help is always available. Only use it for home and is quick, quiet, and reliable.
Upon the first change of print cartridges (HP), the color deteriorated until only one faded color was coming up. I have departed for the winter in AZ so I can't work with it. I am very unhappy.
Pros: Affordable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,
This is so disappointing! I'm very sorry that the printer stopped performing properly in the way of yielding color prints. I can fully understand how inconvenient this is, so I'd like to provide you with some helpful resources to use when you return from your winter break.
It sounds like the issue you noted may be one of print quality, so I recommend following the steps in this improvement guide: support.hp.com/document/c05076934
If this fails to provide a solution, please contact us for support. We'd be more than happy to work on resolving this with you. You can get in touch anytime via this link: hp.com/contactHP
This was bought to replace my HP 7640 printer. There had been no issue with the 7640 and gave it to my son. With all the different brands on the market I thrust HP the most.!! HP always has been the best in my book and that's why I bought the 6978 HP.
