Good value for the money!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for an easy to use espresso machine that wasn't overly expensive, yet a good value and found it! This machine was very easy to set up. The instructions were clear and I made my first cappuccino within minutes. We've enjoyed several delicious lattes, cappuccinos and affogatos. It was well worth it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Decent Espresso and just ok milk drinks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought to make espresso and occasional milk drink.
Excellent espresso after dialing in my preferences. The caps and lattes are just ok, steamed milk works, but weak frothing. For the price point, this was a good purchase.

Homerun for Kitchenaid!

I had a different brand of superautomatic before this and there are a lot of things to really like about the Kitchenaid. First, I am only an espresso or coffee drinker so I do not care about milk and frothing. Most of my opinions are in contrast with my previous brand. This has an easily accessible water tank with an obvious sightglass to see water level from the left side. The coffee ground puck container and the drip tray are considerably larger and I can go a week without needing to empty them( I am the only one using the machine). The default settings make a perfect espresso so I have not had to mess with changing it, but the options are there if you require something different. This machine has little rollers that help you move it around the countertop, which is necessary for me to access the right side. YMMV.
What not to like? Only two small issues, so far. The manual is one of the worst I have had for explaining everything, especially what kind of messages I might receive and what to do about them. Apparently this machine is too new to have generic cleaning tablets available so I am stuck paying Kitchenaid prices for their tabs, but that could change in the future.
This is a top-of-the-line machine in many respects but it is so easy to use and makes wonderful coffee as easily as pushing just 2 buttons!

Great machine - TERRIBLE coffee
on July 15, 2024
Posted by: PeloCoffeeDrinker
The machine arrived yesterday, and I am less than impressed. The function itself is great, but I'm having difficulty dialing in a good cup of coffee. So far I'd say I'm getting "spit out disgusting" to "approaching marginally adequate" with the KF6.
I've used 2 different types of beans, changed the grind, temperature (which seems scolding hot, but measures at 160º/175º/185º for water alone), coffee volume, and water volume. I've somewhat worked with changing around the Strength (there are only 3 beans as an option on the KF6 and I believe the KF7 and KF8 have 5 or 6 beans) as well as somewhat played with the Body (light, medium, strong), but I honestly don't understand what I'm changing when I change the Body.
I've used the Americano option (terrible), Espresso and manually adding water (also terrible), tried my preferred Long Black and added water then Espresso (terrible), and the Coffee option (approaching marginally adequate).
Yes, it is only day 2 but it shouldn't take this much work nor should I waste this many beans to dial in a decent cup.

Avoid If You Want Milk Espresso Beverages
on July 8, 2024

Recently bought this Fully Automatic Espresso machine to replace another Fully Automatic machine that I had for 18 years.
The machine can produce a decent single shot or Americano. Temperatures on HIGH are around 140-145F into a warm rinsed cup.
The big problem is the milk beverages. The temperature of the milk is very low on high temp. For a factory set latte on HIGH temp, pre-milk the shot was 145F, once the milk was added the temp decreases to 127F. This is not acceptable, on high the milk temp should be at least 145F and preferably around 160F. I agree with other reviewers that the milk heating on this machine is extremely sub-par. The problem is that there is no way to remedy unlike a manual steam wand. The temperature drops even more if you want a more traditionally sized latte with 6-8oz milk.
Very disappointed, and hoping there is someone who can remedy this.

Dream come true!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This espresso machine is absolutely amazing. I am so happy I finally bought it for myself after wanting one for so long. It perfectly makes each drink how I set it. When you do the math for what you might spend buying one cup of your favorite coffee drink over a year (depending how much you drink it), it makes total sense to buy one if you can. It does not disappoint.

Worth the expensive price tag

I was hesitant because of the price, but took the plunge and got it. So glad I did, It is the best coffee I have ever had. It was intimidating at first trying to use it. I Utubed the directions for set up. (easier than the instructions) Supper simple to use. I don't like that when it turns on, it goes through the cleaning cycle, but I just leave an empty cup under it at all times. Still getting used to adjusting all my options, but I have mastered the cappuccino and it is delicious. Would recommend if you can afford it.

Lukewarm at best

We just received our new KF6 in stainless steel. We like the selection and customization options. However, you cannot fit a large mug or travel mug below the dispenser. Our biggest disappointment is that the drinks come out warm, not hot, even when we select "high" for the temperature. In order to have a hot drink, we have to microwave our drinks after they dispense. They do taste great, but coffee should be hot, not lukewarm!
