Lego Taj Mahal is a Nice Display Piece!

I hope Lego comes up with more challenging sets as the Taj Mahal. When finished the Lego Taj Mahal makes a nice display piece, but fair warning it's fairly huge.
I like that the bags are numbered, for I have a small nook in the family room where I build my lego sets. I understand that people have a whole room dedicated for Lego, but this works out nice for people who don't. I have built 4 Lego sets so far and yet to have a missing piece which impresses me very much. About 1/4th way through the build process I changed my building technique a little and notice it was much easier to have every part separated and the very small pieces put into bins. It takes about 20-30 minutes to separate the pieces, but speeds up the actual build time immensely.
I'm 53 years old, so playability is a non-factor for me, but I would say the Taj Mahal has no playability whatsoever. It's a very nice display piece and now I just have to find a place in a room where I can put it.
I'm glad that Lego re-released this set and to all the so-called "collectors" stop calling yourself collectors. A collector is one who treasures their collections that rarely parts with anything unless it becomes really really valuable. No your just trying to make a fast buck at someone else's gullibility. I'm not a collector, for I build these Lego sets, for me that's part of the fun and it's a challenge.

Great Lego Party Build

This is a great model. It is a perfect team or Lego party build because it is modular. Each group can build a module and then assemble them at the end.
Great addition to any collection.

Great set, with some minor flaws

Assembling it was a challenging experience, and very enjoyable, even though it has a lot of repetition.
However, the structure of the towers in the corners is not very stable, they are quite wobbly (of course, as this set is meant as a showpiece, not for playing with it, it's not really causing problems). Another minor problem I had was that even though most of the 1x1 stud flat pieces had a spare part, which they do in most sets, the transparent ones used for the windows didn't, and they are the easiest to lose accidentally. I almost came a piece short of these, when one of them got stuck in its bag, and I didn't notice until I ran out of them.

Beautiful building

This is a showpiece. It takes over a room. It was a little hard on my fingers but otherwise not too taxing. Definately for older builders - children would not have the skill or patience for this Lego masterpiece. I love it.

i remember seeing this lego when i was younger and i wanted it so bad but it was too expensive and i was too young but now it has been taken out of the vault and it is honestly the best and most beautiful lego i have ever purchased and i would recommend it to any experienced lego builder.

The set is not hard to build due to symmetry. Thank Lego for selling it again! It is definitely a must have. It is so so beautiful. More beautiful than shown in the picture.
