One word... Impressive.. and that doesn’t even begin to explain how amazing this building is. My husband was absolutely enthralled by it (he’s 35) and he only let our eldest son help build it. It looks completely authentic once completed and dare I say it doesn’t really look like Lego. An iconic building has received a fantastic rendering in this set and is a must buy for any Lego fan.

I was so happy when I found out that LEGO had reissued this set. This was one of the sets that got me interested in Legos, but I was not able to buy it the first time around because I was very young. As for the set itself, all I can say is WOW! Aside from some repetitive building (which can be expected since it is a symmetrical building) this was by far one of my favorite sets to build. It is an absolute masterpiece and a great conversations starter as it is very hard to miss when displayed in a room. The only issue I had with the completed set was moving it from my building table to my dresser, mainly because the base pieces kept separating when I picked it up. Other than that, I was 100% satisfied with this set and would definitely recommend to any long-time Lego fan!

My LEGO Taj Mahal Review 10256

I have always loved Legos and I had my eye on this set for a while and on my 13th birthday, I was surprised with it.
As one of the biggest Lego sets in the world, it is not easy to make with an average build time of about 18-23 hours (alone). As a frequent lego builder, I was surprised by the different styles and techniques (curved corners, curved dome, etc) used to build the set. It was a fun experience overall but you need lots of patience to build it because of how repetitive it is and how long the build time is. The finished product does not contain any play features. The set is more for aesthetics/a design element. Overall this was an amazing Lego set with a great build process. Happy Building :)

Great Lego Party Build

This is a great model. It is a perfect team or Lego party build because it is modular. Each group can build a module and then assemble them at the end.
Great addition to any collection.

I bought this set for myself, but my two grandsons built it for me. They have graduated into the Lego creator and expert sets after building The Disney castle, Tower Bridge, Ninjago City, London bus. This set was a challenge but they each built 1/2 — this was easy to do because of the nature of the building. The detail is awesome from start to finish and the finished product is magnificent. It is a large piece and deserves an appropriate setting for display. I have received many compliments on it. Eldest grandson, age 11, is now building Millennium Falcon 75192 and younger grandson ,age 10 is starting Big Ben! I am pleased to have been a part of their love affair with Lego. We have been buying Lego sets for many years. The one down side I see is that once one builds the larger creator and expert sets, it’s kind of hard to get excited over the small sets. So Lego, we are all for bigger and tougher sets to come.

Great set, with some minor flaws

Assembling it was a challenging experience, and very enjoyable, even though it has a lot of repetition. However, the structure of the towers in the corners is not very stable, they are quite wobbly (of course, as this set is meant as a showpiece, not for playing with it, it's not really causing problems). Another minor problem I had was that even though most of the 1x1 stud flat pieces had a spare part, which they do in most sets, the transparent ones used for the windows didn't, and they are the easiest to lose accidentally. I almost came a piece short of these, when one of them got stuck in its bag, and I didn't notice until I ran out of them.

I waited a long time to build this set and it was worth the weight. It is insanely intricate. It is a solid build and absolutely huge. I loved every minute of building it
