my daughter loves this sewing machine!

My daughter is 8 years old and was interested in learning to sew clothes for her dolls. We bought this Brother sewing machine and it is such an excellent machine. Perfect for beginners! Easy-to-follow guides online and instructions. My daughter is a natural with it and calls her machine "Bro" for short. We've already made a couple of projects with the sewing group at our local library. It's super easy to use and not intimidating for me ( I have avoided sewing my whole life until now) and we know this Bro will last my daughter a very long time. Thank you! Great machine.

It's a beast to deal with and within 7 months the tension cannot be set anymore.

necessary improvements

Have the bobbin cover attached rather than a separate piece and have the stitches easier to switch/change. Still have not figured out how to switch to the design/embroidery stitches on this machine.

Terrible machine!

This is the worst sewing machine I have ever tried to sew on. Every step of threading the top thread and the bobbin is unnecessarily complex and gimmicky. The light is extremely bright making for more glare off the metal parts than useful light. I dread setting this machine up and avoid sewing projects that I used to love. Once I get it threaded correctly and functioning, it limps along and does the job.

Very disappointed and unhappy

It is a very bad sewing machine. Overly complicated. Never works in one go. The thread either keeps coming out of the needle or the bobbin. I’ve changed threads, needles piled the machine even though it is fairly new and I use it only for altering stuff. I bought it for the 5-6 times I need to use in a year. It has been a nightmare and I dread thinking of this sewing machine. I end up stitching/altering by hand which Ofcourse takes forever. I am so disappointed
