These are for the V-Edge Sharpener. Although you won't need replacements often, it's nice to know where they are available.

These rods are replacements for the V edge sharpener. The fine grain is perfect for everyday maintenance, a task easily performed with the V edge sharpener. These are the rods you will keep in most of the time, similar to use of the honing steel. Ceramic is the best for sharpening knives but if dropped, it can break. A good idea to keep a back up set on hand.

Simplicity is what I say about these rods to remove replace use is just so fantastic I have a friends that I borrowed the V edge and it is fantastic in the future it would be very nice to see a finer grit say 6000 to really smooth the edge of your knife I know that everyone that has a V edge would buy them without question this is a great sharpener, John.
I use these in my V Edge sharpener to "strop" a knife after use. It is my hope that after a use and washing the blade, a few quick pulls will keep them from needing any heavier sharpening
Maybe not absolutely 100% necessary. But wow, does this ever finish the sharpness of a blade. The standard fine ceramic that comes with the sharpener is really good enough. This super fine grain ceramic puts that teeny tiny better edge on a knife. Cutting is slightly smoother - I can feel a very slight difference between the F1000 and the standard fine from the kit.
It just feels good putting an extra fine edge on an expensive knife.
