Too Smart?

First off, I could not get this to connect to my Google Home app. Very frustrating. Operating the Nest on the wall was difficult. Maybe not so if you had the app. The Nest would change the temperature back to what it wanted after I set the temperature just 20 minutes earlier. It was like fighting with a partner except in this case, the Nest had all the control. I could not set and hold my desired temperature for a long time. I would see that it changed the temperature back to what it wants not what I want. How could I trust it to hold my temperature when I go away on holidays. I don’t think that feature exists. No thanks, I switched back to my old thermostat which allows me to set the temperature to what I want.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After 4 months it stopped connecting to our internet. Which made it useless with the app !! Swapped for a new one. And this time bought extra Best Buy insurance for 70$ !!!!

So far I’m happy with the purchase.. set up didn’t take lot of time and quite easy. Hoping to save energy bills in coming months! Seamlessly integrates with Google home and all in hand

Pros and Cons...

I have only used the Nest for a couple of weeks, so I can't honestly say if it's good or bad. It's not as easy as it looks to operate and will take you a reading of the online manual to understand it fully. My son-in-law installed it and he had already installed his, so it was quick to do. The app is fairly straightforward, but again, you have to have an understanding of the device first.
It is handy to have the app with you on your phone and, while I always turn the temp down during the day and night anyway, it's good if you're away and can operate it remotely.
We are in the changing of the season from fall heading into winter, so the windows are open and the Nest temp turned down. It'll be interesting to see if there are any savings when I see my next gas bill.

If you get power surges, DO NOT BUY. Your thermostat will work, but it will lose its ability to connect to WiFi.

Amazing product and love the comfort of the device featuring control option through the app and you have access of controlling the temperature from anywhere in your home. It also learns the pattern and helps you save on energy bills and you can auto set Temperature for your entire week.
I would recommend this to a friend!
