Easiest to install. No HomeKit support

Learning Nest

Bought one in Jan/20 . Thermostat went off line in July/ 20. I am up North and can not get to Florida Home were it is installed. This device was installed by a professional. I can not do any thing on my app to get it going. This sucks!!!!!!! I will not buy another one . My Brother in Law has one too, and his went off line before mine. I have Blink cameras on property and the are working fine. So you can not blame the internet service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks great but the wifi chip on these is not reliable.
Nest will lose connection, try to reconnect until the battery level is too low to continue attempting. The cycle will repeat until your thermostat can no longer connect to internet.
Too expensive for a dumb thermostat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have had this product installed in our home for about a year now. It has been a terrific addition and has saved us a lot of $. Installation was stupid simple and the Nest app is easy to use. Highly recommend.

My thermostat

I just got the thermostat install last week. My main reason for it was that if we got this thermostat when we are away we can see if my furnance still work. It will advise me when the temperature fall below a certain point. Also because of this when we go away in the winter we need someone to check the house every 3 days instead of daily because if a problem occur with the furnance we will know and can send someone to take care of it.

Connectivity Future Uncertain

We have had a nest for years, and bought three for our new house. Then read about Google shutting down the Works with Nest program that everything that automates and connects with the thermostat issues. The new Works with Google Assistant is very focused on Google devices and doesn't support Apple or automation platforms like Home Assistant yet.
The future is too entertain. We have swapped the three for the latest EcoBee thermostats.
Hopefully the full details and developer integration are clear soon. But sadly they have lost our business.
