It’s worth the money

This is the second nest 3rd I have bought. The geofencing feature is absolutely amazing and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Buyers Beware

I’ve had this thermostat for a few years now and it’s always caused problems with my heating system. Now it just refuses to work, I installed my 15 year old thermostat and it runs no problem. I contacted google and the tell me there is nothing they can do.
So now I’m stuck with a $300 paper weight.

Don’t be fooled by the reviews or tech magazine buzz. Less than 6 years of ownership and on the second thermostat which has now failed too.
Google has a 24 month warranty which is really handy for them and their share holders as these things always seem to lose the ability to connect to the internet at around 28-36 months.
When a normal thermostat lasts for decades and Google’s solution is to replace it on your own dime it tells you all you need to know about the quality and lack of longevity of these devices.
Save your money and buy something that’ll last. Whether the thermostat or Protects, none of the connect products will connect after a few years!

Support of this device is extremely Bad

So this is what I experience with this device support. My head unit was not holding the charge, so I manually had to charge the head unit and run my thermostat. Then I contact this Google store Nest Thermostat support team and we did all kind of long hour technical troubleshooting, then they convinced that the head unit is defectives. It was under warranty, so they agreed to replace it. they sent me the return label end of August 2022. but the weather and temperature at that time was not in favor for me to sent the head unit back, cause till I get my replacement head unit I will have no COLD or Hot air in my house, so I decide to wait till the weather condition is bit favorable and sent my head unit back to the store by September 20th. Till today, it is September 27th 2022 did not receive my replacement head unit back. I am in contact with the team and they said another 5 business days to get some response from them. they also said they are escalating this issue and this 5 business days is there escalated SLA. now my question to the community, which organization in the world rather than Google Nest had this 5 business days for Escalation SLA ? I did not experience this kind of SLA in my entire life so far. Today I give up with my afford and decide to move on with another product, I guess I will learn something new form that company as well :) just letting you people know, so that you guys can take the right decision before purchasing this product.

Do not buy this product. The product has a known chip error, which it makes disconnected from the home Wi-Fi network. Google won't say it to you.

Simple and straightforward

Been wanting one of these for a while. It’s been running for about a week pretty good. Easy installation, simple programming, functions well. I really like all of the features. Looking forward to see if it saves any money on my bills.
Cons: setup required to add trough google nest, not google home not sure why. I’ve been noticing it sometimes drops off the wifi. Not sure why.
