Awesome Thermostat!!!

The Nest thermostat is everything it's claimed to be and more. Installation is a breeze and it is so refreshing to see something so modern and high tech availing itself to those of us with older technology (as in no "C" wire required). It is very easy to set up and the app works flawlessly. I can't say enough good things about this thermostat and the clincher is how beautiful it looks on the wall!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Temp, humidity not precise enough

On cooling: if you set 22.0 centigrade it will cool to 21.5 before shutting off cooling. It will not trigger cooling until 22.5 room temperature is achieved. That’s a huge range, enough to make you feel colder than you wanted and warmer to a point where you will reach out to your phone to force cooling cycle.
Same is for heating. I really wished they had selected a more moderate number like 0.5 degree variance.
For humidity control it’s even worse. If you set 40%, it will turn on humidifier if humidity gets below 39%. And keep the humidifier running until 46% is reached. That’s huge variation again. If I needed 45% humidity I would set 45% not 40%.
Unfortunately it’s not comfortable for me and doesn’t do the job of making my life easy.

Don't waste your money

This product is garbage, don't waste your money, it stops working after 3months, support is awful, after long time dealing with the support they finally accept that the product is defective but they will send you refurbished instead of a new one! And guess what replacement got the same issue as well

Don't do it!

I've had 3 replacements from Google over two years - so I have used 4 of these brand new! Wont connect to Wifi, technical issues and overall a dreadful device. As for "learning" I don't think that's of much value and I'm not even sure it works. I'm a technical person and this device needs to go back to the drawing board.

stopped working after few months

Installed new Furnace and nest thermostat 3rd gen, It was working few month as expected after that stopped working and it started to blink green light and the force restart also not working, I contacted the support team and they suggested to put charge and try to force restart by pressing for 10 seconds and I did some time it work for few hours and then again stopped working

Awesome T,-stat

This thermostat is very easy to install. My old t-stat only used 2 wires and this thermostat hooked up straight away and started working right away. So far its be working great. Already learnt how we normally run our temperature in the house. I would definitely recommend this thermostat.

I’ll start off by saying my wife loves the chrome ring and mirror screen! We ate currently on our 3rd replacement unit. Nest replaced the first one n/c but now Google has bought Nest they won’t do any good will adjustments. What you have to watch out for is when the unit starts loosing WiFi it’s the beginning of the end. Then you’ll get a battery warning issue and eventually it’ll just stop working (for us it’s usually in the winter). So that said “good luck “ with yours!
